Currently, between 68% to 75% of Canada's goods exports flow into the United States. Under this new EU agreement, that number would likely dramatically decrease. They're also exploring the possibility of a closer defense alliance amongst EU nations which Von der Leyen suggested could be akin to creating “Europe’s own Article 4" which when “triggered by one member state, all member states would convene.” If successful, as it seems likely to be, this EU associate membership would cement Carney as one of Canada's greatest historic leaders. His country would gain greater trade links to a $21 trillion single market, while simultaneously decoupling them from an abusive, increasingly fascist United States.
