In the 1930s the mayors of Kobe & Yokohama presented the #Vancouver @ParkBoard w/ 500 Japanese cherry trees for planting, in Stanley Park to honour Japanese Canadians who served in WWI and in 1958, 300 more as an eternal memory of good friendship.
