The County of Forty Mile would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
Yesterday, the County hosted the South Region Agricultural Service Board (ASB) Conference at the Conquerville Community Hall. ASB members and staff from fifteen (15) southern Alberta municipalities and Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation employees from as far away as Edmonton attended. For many, it was their first time visiting the County, and they were excited to be in our neck of the woods!
The County extends its gratitude to the outstanding speakers for sharing their expertise and to all attendees for their participation and engagement. The exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences made for a productive and successful event. We look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to support producers in our County and the region.

Notice Update: Temporary Closure of Burdett Bulk Water Station
September 15th, 2026
The Burdett Bulk Water Station remains temporarily closed while work continues in the area.
The highway dirt work is largely complete, with some landscaping and topsoil work remaining. The next stages will include completing the gravel work, paving, providing access to the site, and commissioning the water line and system to ensure everything is operating properly.
At this time, paving has not yet started, and access to the area has not been provided. Power servicing to the site is also part of the work required before the station can be fully operational. Fortis Alberta previously completed locating work for the power installation; however, we do not have confirmation at this time that the power connection has been completed.
Based on the current progress, the station is expected to remain closed for more than another month. This is an estimated timeline and may change depending on construction progress and weather conditions.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while this work is completed.
During this time, we ask that all bulk water users to continue to plan ahead and make alternative arrangements by using the following locations:
•Bow Island Bulk Water Terminal
•Grassy Lake Bulk Water Terminal – Please contact the MD of Taber if you do not have an account
Further updates will be provided as information becomes available. Please keep an eye on our social media and the local commentator for updates. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.
Sincerely,
County of Forty Mile No.8
