Jack Elliot played the game of his life yesterday. Scored two goals, had what looked to be the cup winner. Unfortunately for him, @GarethBale11 listens to The Counter Press.

LAFC 3-1 over Austin. Brian Dunseth saying “clarity” multiple times in the broadcast.
What’ve you got for the show?
Everybody buy this so JT can buy all these bums out of their contracts
Really excited to see Walta be the best midfielder for LAFC for 3 months and then not be retained just like Moran and O’Brien

It might come as a surprise to you but Kirk and I are much more positive about what we saw from LAFC’s 1-1 draw versus Vancouver than the reaction here on X. Listen to the latest episode of the @CounterPress_ and join the Clarity FC bandwagon with us.

LAFC really couldn’t possess or press against 10 men. Really embarrassing, honestly. Drastic changes are still needed beyond putting MDS on the sacrificial altar.
We have been saying on @CounterPress_ for months that Denis needed to move off the left wing for Shaff. He’s making aggressive runs behind on the counter and has drawn a DOGSO red in the first 7 minutes…
Episode 261: Marc Adios Santos
How much does firing MDS fix? Who should they hire? Is this roster worth anything?

Re: John Thorrington hiring Marc Dos Santos as LAFC Head Coach.
Ruben Amorim was under fire from Day One at Manchester United. From the start, he was clear about his style of play and asked supporters for patience saying "we are going to suffer for a long period. We will try to win games but this will take time."
United never got him the players to run his 3-4-2-1 system.
He wanted a proven EPL striker like Ollie Watkins but got prospect Benjamin Sesko. He wanted Hjumlund as a deeper midfielder but had to push Bruno Fernandes further back instead. The club signed Mattheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo - good players that fit Man Utd's vision but not Amorim's guys (although Mbuemo seems like a great fit). He wanted Semenyo and United swung and missed. It becamse obvious the club had no plans to spend in January to fix obvious issues.
So what did Amorim do? He publicly called out the sporting director and scouting dept. for failing to ID players that fit his system and the club's vision. And then he's fired the next day.
And this is exactly why John Thorrington hired "the safe choice" and chose "continuity" in Marc Dos Santos instead of making a more ambitious appointment.
Thorrington is the man in charge. He controls the roster and the direction of the club. Marc Dos Santos is a head coach, not a manager.
MDS isn't going to dicatate the system or the formation. He executes what JT wants and if he doesn't, he'll be moved on.
And if the MDS hire goes up in flames, we'll know exactly where the blame should land.

LAFC is just a few weeks too late on Marcelo Gallardo… the guy I’d be most interested in
We always like when Josh speaks because he has such unique details…
“Strong player support”
Everybody play the name game in the replies…
Across the LAFC organization, stability and consistency have been hallmarks. That continuity was one reason given for elevating Marc Dos Santos. Another was strong player support for him. But for the first time in-season, LAFC parts ways with a head coach.
