Our main large @Raspberry_Pi events are going on hiatus while we have a re-think. Find out more, and how you can help: cotswoldjam.org/index.php/ar… #rjam @rjam_chat

Christmas Cracker Joke Badge, a labour-saving device based on the @pimoroni Badger 2040, a @Raspberry_Pi RP2040-based e-ink wearable. Handles small talk & ice-breaking duties that I find exhausting at office Christmas parties. youtube.com/watch?v=ecfuU7Rj…
What's a recommended HAT for long strings of WS2812 LEDs with the @Raspberry_Pi please? I know I can build my own (and have) with a PSU & level shifter, but I'm looking for something more robust & neater. – at Tewkesbury, England
Well, worst comes to worst, the fire extinguishers are handy. @Raspberry_Pi at @schuh Bull Ring, Brum (I'm going to guess duff memory card)
Happy 10th Birthday, @Raspberry_Pi ! What's happening with Cotswold Jam?

Recommendations for shooting into sun with @Raspberry_Pi webcam? Switched from v1 5Mpix to v2 8Mpix camera AND lower sun (winter), image is poor. Currently using raspistill parameters -ex antishake -ifx denoise -sh 25 -sa 12 -mm spot -ss 350 -co 12 aoakley.com/webcam/
What's a safe and non-ugly way to get USB power from a ceiling rose (UK mains ceiling light) without dismantling the ceiling/floorboards above please? Asking for a Pi Zero W webcam.
Excitedly planning future business trips & mini breaks, organising my briefcase/tech bag to account for USB-C power delivery with lovely new Thinkpad, then realise I have a day-one @Raspberry_Pi 4... ARGH! Do I have a 5.1kohm resistor, and is my soldering up to the job?
If I am an @AmazonUK Prime member, and I have a wishlist solely of Prime items, and someone who is not a Prime member buys from my wishlist, do they have to pay postage?
I'm refurbishing old laptops for lockdown pupils & I have a wishlist of cheapo SSDs. amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/gen…
#raspberrypi OS on PC x86/64 *CAN* run full Google Chrome with Widevine (Netflix etc); just download from Google, dpkg -i , that fails but then apt --fix-broken install and VOILA! Refurbing old laptops for lockdown pupils.
So what is a #raspberrypi 2B+Wifi or 3B like to use with Google Classroom? Looking to loan them out. I have 20+ 2/3Bs but sadly no 4Bs. I'm guessing 1GB RAM may be a problem with Chromium?
How can I use #Ubuntu Server to distribute a #raspberrypi webcam stream please? Pi is at home, sends stream to server in datacentre, multiple viewers take stream from server, so home bandwidth isn't overloaded/duplicated. There's a search term which I haven't found yet!
Thanks @Chelt_Hackspace for giving me (@aroakley) somewhere to camp out while wife & 3 children entertain nanny & grampy at home (rule of 6!). Have some UHT milk portions which will hopefully last everyone until we can do another mini Raspberry Jam (maybe Feb 2021?).
So if us techies converted old laptops that can't run Win10, to Chromebooks or Raspbian x86, and gave them away to poor kids during school closures, would that actually be any use? Or do poor families not have broadband anyway? 'Cos I've got two doing nowt.
Beware the IDEs of March.
Saturday's "Pi Day" tutorials are now available from cotswoldjam.org/index.php/ar… . If you're using Raspbian Buster and want to stick with the Idle coding tool used in our workshop, go to Raspberry menu - Accessories - Terminal and type:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install idle3
Trouble with other pupils destructively joining #Minecraft coding sessions? You can't turn this off from @Raspberry_Pi Minecraft, but you can run a quick firewall:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install ufw
sudo ufw enable
By default, blocks incoming connections but allows outgoing.
Our Raspbian Buster image with all our @Raspberry_Pi workshop tutorials is now available as a BitTorrent.
