One thing I’d love to see more cosplayers, especially competitive cosplayers, focus on is ✨fit✨. I see so many costumes both online and when I’m judging that are made from beautiful materials with wonderful embellishments, but the base garments do not fit them well 🥲

The amount of times I was hyped up as a newbie by the experienced fabricators gave me so much confidence back in the day 🥹
Be kind experienced cosplayers! You can change and inspire the entire mindset of the newbies ❤️

Advice to beginners who want to start competing in cosplay contests:
Read the rules, then read them again. If something isn't covered ask questions. If you don't get a timely response follow up. If something is covered and you don't like it, maybe this isn't the contest for you.

I feel like this is another thing that comes from people not realizing online cosplay and con culture are wildly different.
An “outdated” cosplay won’t do as well online if it’s not Trending™️ or you don’t have reach, but at a con that’s irrelevant

Welcome to the Aether Foundation! Shall I give you the tour?
These photos are long overdue, since I made this costume over 4 years ago and never got any pictures of it. But I adore Wicke and I love cosplaying her so much!
Thank you @LutaviaCosplay for taking these! 💖

Dear black cosplayers,
Next week I’m hosting a much needed panel titled “How black artists changed the face of cosplay”, I would like to take a small bit of your time to include you in it.
If you are interested in getting your name out there, please leave a reply to this tweet.

GAIZ! I am so proud of this build! I live in a small country with limited resources added to which due to covid ALL stores were closed for 3 months while I made this. I almost gave up so many times and it cost me a fortune to make
BUT I did it!
Thank you all for your support!🙇🙇

This is my new favourite thing to do on props that need things bolted together but are too big for a measly chicago screw: just pop a slot for a hex nut into the side and a slot for the screw to carry on into, and there you go. Collapsible prop, removable straps, whatever.
