On October 16, 2019, I told Donald Trump, “With you, Mr. President, all roads lead to Putin.”
On October 16, 2026, Trump signed an executive order waiving new sanctions on Russia passed by bipartisan majorities in Congress and signed into law just last month.
This decision insults America’s commitment to democracy and our brave men and women in uniform, as Russia helps Iran target American forces.
I join Republican senators in condemning this unconscionable capitulation to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians.
As I have asked for years: What does Putin have on Trump that he would sell out America’s values?

This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

The United States is now officially allied with Vladimir Putin and Russia. We will fund Russia’s genocidal war machine in exchange for Putin helping Trump and the Republican Party in the midterms. One of the most shameful and disgusting days in the history of this Republic.

This completely vanished from the media.
Rep. Ted Lieu said on the record that the Epstein files contain “highly disturbing allegations” that Donald Trump raped children and threatened to kill children.
Why is nobody talking about this?

And so here we are. This statement from Trump blows my mind. That a sitting president would not let any renovations to a public building go on unless he gets to first put his name in the said building… What a sad state of affairs. What a tragedy. Actually, how small minded, how narcissistic. Actually
great men, devoted to public service and the public good do not act like this.
It seems that this man will not rest until his name is permanently connected to the name of a great president, whose memory this building was dedicated to. Imagine spending your time and your days focused on this, as everyday Americans struggle with healthcare, gas prices, rent, and food. Imagine spending your days focused on this, while a war rages under your leadership.
Enough said. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

50 days until Election Day.
Every seat, every ballot, every vote matters this year. Fixing what Trump has broken won’t happen by itself. If you’ve been waiting for the time to get involved, it’s now.

At Pearl Harbor, the explosion of the battleship Arizona blew him clean off his own ship and into a sea covered in burning oil. He swam back through the flames, climbed aboard, and saved his ship. A year later he was killed on the bridge of another. This is Cassin Young.
On the morning of December 7, 1941, Cassin Young commanded the USS Vestal, a repair ship moored right alongside the battleship USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor. When the Japanese attack came, Young was manning a gun, fighting back, when the Arizona's forward magazine detonated in the catastrophic explosion that killed over a thousand of her crew. The blast was so enormous that it hurled Cassin Young bodily off the Vestal and into the harbor, into water coated with burning oil between the two ships.
He should have been finished. Instead, Young swam back through the fire to his own ship, hauled himself aboard, and took charge. The Vestal was ablaze in several places, holed by bombs, and settling. There was even a panicked order given to abandon her. Young countermanded it, reportedly saying they were not giving up the ship yet, and with total coolness he got the burning Vestal underway, moved her away from the doomed Arizona, and deliberately ran her aground to keep her from sinking. He saved his ship and his crew through the worst hour in the history of the US Navy.
For that, Cassin Young received the Medal of Honor. And his story carries a poignant thread that ties into another I have told. Promoted to captain, he was given command of the heavy cruiser USS San Francisco. And on the night of November 13, 1942, at the ferocious close range Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, a Japanese battleship's shells swept the bridge of the San Francisco, killing Captain Cassin Young along with Admiral Daniel Callaghan and nearly everyone else there. The man who had survived being blown into the burning water at Pearl Harbor died a year later on the bridge at Guadalcanal, alongside the admiral whose own Medal of Honor came from that same terrible night.

"Furious" hits a nerve, even if the series didn't necessarily set out to make a statement on female rage or American justice, Hanna Rosin writes. She spoke with Liz Meriwether, the show's creator: theatlantic.com/podcasts/202…

Obama: When American foreign policy lives up to our highest ideals, when we champion human rights and democracy and the sound stewardship of our planet, when we take the lead in eradicating disease and feeding the hungry and educating children, when we encourage cooperation between nations, instead of trying to dominate and bully and squeeze every advantage just because we can, and most of all, when we show through our example here at home that even a country as big and diverse as ours can make democracy work, it turns out all nations, including ours, become more prosperous and secure, and the world gets a little bit brighter

On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women in uniform who gave their lives for this country that we love. It is a debt we can never fully repay, but we must never stop trying. I’ll always be grateful to our fallen heroes and their families, whose sacrifice reminds us of what it means to live for something greater than ourselves.
