I was born in Calgary. I've spent my whole life in Toronto. Over the past two years, filming the documentary Broken Country, I've spent more time in Alberta than I have since I moved east. And I've come away seeing the separation debate very differently than I did going in. I met a lot of separatists. Almost none of them were who I expected. They weren't angry cranks with a flag. They were farmers, nurses, oil workers, small-business owners, grandparents. And the thing that surprised me most: most of them want nothing more than to remain in Canada. They just can't see another choice. Think about what they've lived through. The National Energy Program. Pipelines approved, then cancelled, then litigated into the ground. A tanker ban on one coast. Hundreds of billions sent east through equalization, returned as lectures about how the industry that pays for Canada's infrastructure and provincial shortfalls is something to be ashamed of. A federal government that has gone to court to argue Alberta's own resources aren't Alberta's business. And through all of it, a Parliament where their votes are a rounding error. You can disagree with every policy position Albertans hold and still see the pattern: a province that built one of the most productive economies on Earth, asked over and over to apologize for it. The people pushing for a referendum aren't traitors. They're patriots. They are standing up for what they believe in and fighting for a better future for their kids, a future their own federal government keeps telling them they don't deserve. That's not a tantrum. That's what citizens are supposed to do when nobody in power is listening. I'll say it plainly: I want nothing more than for Alberta to stay in Canada. This country is not whole without it. If Alberta leaves the country I love and am fighting for will cease to exist. But maybe a referendum vote is exactly the wake-up call the rest of us need. Not because Alberta should leave, but because the rest of Canada has to finally decide whether it wants to be a partner or a landlord.

As fuel prices are my interest and knowing the prices of diesel has doubled in September 26 vs 2025, the monthly CPI index will show a ~4% rise in inflation While war in the Persian Gulf is cited, Cdns elected to pay to weaken the Loonie and add a 2nd carbon tax thru NetZero

Carney and Joly playing politics, surprise, surprise
🏭 Stelco CEO Lorenzo Goncalves. 1⃣ The layoffs are temporary & will be reversed unlike 🇨🇦 Algoma that permanently laid off 1,000 workers after taking $500M from taxpayers. Goncalves took $0. 2⃣ There is no provision in the contract to keep worker levels the same every day throughout the 5 years. He would never have invested $3.4B if there were. 3⃣ He supports the 232 tariffs as it prevents steel dumping into the 🇺🇸. He stopped this practice once he took over Stelco & strongly implies that practice is still going on in 🇨🇦. 4⃣ He eviscerates Carney & Joly. 🔥"The workers are being played... 🔥The PM saying I've betrayed my employees is not true... 🔥Repeating what Joly is saying without thinking... 🔥Don't pay attention to people playing politics... 🔥This is the last Thanksgiving that you are out of a job."

#BREAKING: Canada’s economy had ZERO % growth in July and Deloitte Canada is cutting GDP growth forecasts by 20%. Canadians are in good hands with Master Negotiator, PHD Economist and Brookfield Banker Mark Carney with the pretty resume at the helm of the economy. @dsimieritsch

I'm just reminding everyone that all they did was rename the GST rebate. No one is any better off than before. People who got the rebate before still get it. People who didn't get it still don't. Status quo. This is all smoke & mirrors. MSM refuses to call their bluff. fuckem all
Canada is building big again, and some of the biggest payoffs will take time. That's why we're giving Canadians a boost right now.   The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit is delivering up to $1,890 this year to help families with the essentials. A week from today, more than 12 million Canadians will receive their next payment.

If you were planning to vote Option 1 because you want Alberta to stay in Canada — pause. Option 1 tells Ottawa we’re fine with the current arrangement. Option 2 does not mean you support leaving. It means you want Premier Smith to have real leverage. That’s the smarter stay-in-Canada vote. calgaryherald.com/news/local…

$863,000 more. On top of the $26 billion already committed. Meanwhile one kitchen in four is short. Youth unemployment at 12.9 percent. 42,000 jobs gone in a single month. Adult kids still in the basement. Housing that will not move. Work permits in the millions while Canadians look for a shift. A country that cannot feed, house, or employ its own people first is not generous. It is distracted. Kitchen table first. #cdnpoli

When Carney can’t deliver results, he manufactures fear. The Carney Liberals don’t want Canadians calmly judging their record with the U.S. They’d rather turn every trade dispute into a national emergency and beat the drums with war-like rhetoric. Then hope nobody asks the obvious question: What have the Carney Liberals actually delivered in the last 18 months?

And why would it be advantageous to hide this report? The truth wouldn't keep paying, thats why!
💥NEW REPORT: The Forgotten RCMP Report That Challenges Canada's Reconciliation Story The 2003 RCMP report found B.C. secret-burial claims, turned up NO EVIDENCE and recorded most deaths from disease. Kamloops logged 79 assault complainants—not 215 hidden graves. Between 1995 and 2003, the RCMP "E" Division conducted Project E-NIRS—the only province-wide criminal investigation of its kind into allegations at British Columbia's 15 residential schools. Corporal M.W. Pacholuk authored the final report, which examined every allegation of physical and sexual abuse, along with unlawful and suspicious deaths. The task force didn't just investigate rumours—they physically tested them. On February 24, 1999, with the band's permission, they went to Kuper Island, where stories of dead babies buried there had circulated for years. Investigators dug up suspected burial sites and found no evidence that would support any of these allegations.

This doesn’t shock me at all. Only the federal government could take something as simple as removing the GST on a new home and turn it into an application, a rebate, a queue and a 50-day wait. It would have been a hell of a lot easier to just eliminate the GST on new homes. melissalantsman.substack.com…
