I've limited sharing my thoughts on FSU since switching over to the new role. But I wanted to get these out there, because I've thought Alford's inability to swiftly adapt to the changing landscape of college football played a HUGE role in FSU's recent decline. Not the only factor, of course, but a significant one. Politics and personal connection often put over production. Compounding poor personnel decisions didn't help matters. Basically, it had to happen. It's overdue. It's a step. I feel bad because this will impact decent people who work through the athletic department, but the leadership failed them in this case, and it failed the FSU fans, and the community of Tallahassee. As part of the latter, and given what my former role was, it was hard to see missteps build up - report on them - and nothing happen to change the program trajectory. I think administration above Alford still needs to address why this move took as long as it did, and what's next. Does Peter Collins become the interim AD? I've heard that theory floated around before. Would that be good for FSU if it was the case? idk. I think entire administration should be taking accountability for current state of FSU's football program. At a minimum, Collins and Richard McCullough should be available to answer direct questions about whys and hows of where FSU sits and what it's plan is to fix things. Speaking in a sit-down capacity with local media like Noles247, Warchant, and the Tallahassee Democrat is essential. No more hiding behind press releases or PR department when things are bad.
