Are Tech bros actually going to save Marketing by accident? 🤔
I think yes.
Tech has a quiet belief: great products sell themselves. That's why builders have long treated marketing as the soft function anyone could do.
AI makes building a company trivially easy. More than ever, engineers are starting their own companies with the same plan: "AI will handle marketing."
Then they launch, and get crickets.
Their product looks like a thousand others, because everyone uses the same tools and the same ideas. AI can write your positioning, plan, and creative, and none of it matters if you have nothing to say.
A great product doesn't sell itself when ten others look just like it.
That's the real story behind the "tech-broification" of marketing (h/t Miranda Shanahan): strategists rebranded as "narrative engineers."
What marketers have always known: distribution is now the central challenge in creativity.
When anyone can copy what you build, your moat is someone who can answer:
Why does this product matter?
Where does it need to show up?
How do we build strong, favorable associations over time and get into the consideration set?
Product-led purism is hitting its limits. Brand and creativity matter more than ever.

Intent is packed with so many features, and we ship new ones 3 times a day, it seems.
Agents can now comment on each other's specs to collaborate
- Main agent writes the core spec.
- get other agents (security, perf, design, etc) to review & comment

It's Auggie CLI Hackday over at @augmentcode, what better time to get Auggie in @zeddotdev.

Yesterday's Tasklist launch didn’t exactly surprise early users.
Turns out they spotted the feature weeks ago.
So this time, we built something unpredictable.
Something no one could guess.
Something no one wanted.
(Except one guy. As a joke.)
We shipped it anyway.
Power users found it early (again).
And somehow… it sold out instantly.

@augmentcode has been hands down the best AI editor I have used, and I am not saying it lightly, as I have been a very early user of @GitHubCopilot , then I switched over to @cursor_ai and use it for a long time, I also dabbled with @windsurf_ai .

Remote Agent is live in VS Code (v0.472.1).
Early users are already shipping while they sleep. One dev launched 3 agents before logging off - woke up to a PR, docs, and a fixed flaky test.
We’re celebrating wins like that by giving 5 devs 4 months of Augment Max ($1K in value each).
RT + reply with your worst backlog task. Every 100 RTs = one more winner

Just bumped into @jyangballin on Stanford campus and discussed future of coding agents and swebench/sweagent. Very happy such smart and kind folks are working on this important problem with an open-source POV. The future is bright ☀️
Strongly believe open source is critical puzzle piece in AI safety story over the coming decade. To play our part, my research colleagues at Augment and I will begin by posting a blog post soon detailing all our learnings and hard-learned discoveries building coding agents for swebench
After Deepseek R1, Grok3 is now out. Toping a bunch of benchmarks.
If it's not that hard to make frontier models, why do we still need OpenAI and Anthropic?
Actually no /s on that one
