We’re encouraging YOU to: Print and hand out bustcards, leaflets and masks Get some printed online or from your local printers, and spend 10 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour - whatever you can spare - handing them out to people at NHC, especially ahead of any facial recognition vans you see. Intervene when you see a stop and search Violent stop and searches are rife at NHC. Take the time to intervene in a stop and search, even if you’ve never done it before, using the tips on the bustcards. The most important thing is showing care to someone who is being stopped and searched. Consider the history of NHC & your positionality Racialised police violence contributed to the inception of Notting Hill Carnival, and has been present ever since. Different demographics experience privilege differently, especially regarding police and state violence.

🔴 NEWS: Met Police officers unlawfully shared the personal information of 179 people, including three children, on an unauthorised retail crime platform.
🔸 Names and home addresses were uploaded to a platform called Auror.
🔸The platform was never risk assessed, reviewed or approved by the Met.
The UK's data watchdog @ICOnews has launched an action against the Met's severe lack of accountability.
Officers have repeatedly used third-party platforms unchecked - and the Met has nothing in place to stop them from continuing to do so.

We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier.
