We've just closed the A6024 Holme Moss due to difficult conditions because of snow. Snow is forecast across Derbyshire during the day so more roads, especially on higher routes in the Peak District, could close later. Gritters are out on all the high routes at the moment.

Please, if you must go out in the #snow then be prepared incase you become stranded. Carry extra clothing/blankets, and drinks and food. You just never know what may happen.

With temps running higher there is not only risk to life but infrastructure too. We don't build things to deal with these temps ... Mediterranean locations are built for the sun etc please do take extra care
