A constitutional republic exists so that a majority cannot vote a class of human beings out of the human family. Once the law agrees that one group of humans may be permanently erased, the question is: Who is next? | Brooke Stanton nationalreview.com/2026/10/t…

Hard to take seriously the philosophers who deny personhood to unborn babies but apply it to AIs.

Science is so hard for the left. If HcG is found in a woman's urine (and the test is highly sensitive and specific), she's pregnant. An EXPECTANT MOTHER. You can't be a little bit pregnant.
Pregnancy tests draw a misleading, somewhat arbitrary, binary between a state of being pregnant and not being pregnant. You can be kind of pregnant, a little bit pregnant, or almost pregnant, or maybe pregnant, and still test positive for pregnancy. Pregnancy tests, particularly at-home urine tests, capture a moment in time at which an embryo has implanted and is interfacing with the uterus in some way. “We define how we understand the beginning of pregnancy based on this snapshot, but such a freeze-frame contains limited information,” Apoorva Tadepalli writes. “Virginia’s Amendment 1 Is Extreme and Deceptive: Voter referendum would allow abortion up to birth, abolish parental consent, and more” That’s title of my new National Review essay (linked at end of thread). Some key points: 1. Contrary to what sponsors of the amendment have claimed, Amendment 1 would do far more than write into the state constitution the broad protections for abortion that already exist in state statutes.

What are the ethical boundaries and norms at stake in the new reproductive enterprises coming our way? The podcast Bioethics Babe interviews my colleague and friend Dr. David Prentice of the Science Alliance for Life and Technology. It's long but worth your time on the these cutting-edge topics. mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#se…

Fourteen months ago we asked 14 questions about IVF policy in the United States. They still seem relevant as the federal government expands promotion of the practice: washingtonstand.com/commenta…

By teaching incorrect science, we as a society are doing an immense disservice to our children. Thankfully, @ContendProjects is fighting to bring accurate science about the beginning of every human being's life to schools. clmagazine.org/topic/medicin…

This is monstrous, Congressman. We have our dignity and basic rights--human rights--in virtue of our humanity, not age, size, or stage of development, anymore than race, sex, or ethnicity. Human dignity is inherent, not acquired. All of us have it, and we have it from the point at which we come into being; we do not lose it except by ceasing to be (i.e., by dying). On this principle--that of the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of each and every member of the human family--all else depends. It is the foundational principle of justice. If we bandon it, then all other claims of justice are rendered arbitrary ... and Thracymachus wins.

When schools teach the scientifically inaccurate claim that life begins at birth, kids learn to devalue preborn human beings. @ContendProjects is bringing accurate science and embryology to schools to help students recognize the value of every person. clmagazine.org/topic/medicin…

When children learn correct science about the beginning of a human being's life, they develop a respect for every person, born and preborn. That's why @ContendProjects is working to bring accurate science curricula into schools. clmagazine.org/topic/medicin…
