Rosman 5th graders are excited to work w the @ChattanoogaZoo to design activities and outreach materials to save the hellbender! But first, they wanted to submit comments to help get the hellbender listed as endangered. Research is engaging when it matters! Stay tuned!

Another fun RootEd Launch is in the books! Our teachers worked with 75 fifth graders from Fletcher Elementary to clear a trail behind their school. Stay tuned for the next steps with this project, as well as all of the awesome work from the rest of the RootEd cohort!

Another fantastic Make Your Mark camp with @BuncombeSchools! We had a great time at the Center for Craft, and can’t wait to work on our own weaving projects next week.

Another awesome Saturday morning Make Your Mark camp! We got to learn about game design with the excellent Mike from @WellPlayedAVL! Stay tuned for next week, when these students design and playtest their own games—a great way to learn and practice math skills.

The Rosman Elementary 5th graders had an absolute blast with the fantastic Matt from @Find_Outdoors! We got to make 3D hellbenders, learn about oxygen molecules in our rivers, and talk about the ways different kinds of pollution impact this fragile ecosystem. Thank you, Matt! 👏

The Clyde Erwin Career Academy students rocked their practice interviews today! 🙌 They’re asking career questions that matter: What motivates you? How is your job different from what you thought it would be? What kinds of mistakes have you made?

Our McDowell County teachers got to visit our Polk County teachers, and it was *clearly* a blast. The Polk Middle outdoor classroom is coming along nicely! It's always a great day to be a RootEd teacher.

Recruitment season! @BCCInnovation students shared their experiences with counselors from @BuncombeSchools as they search for students who would be a good fit for this incredible program.

The Tar River Terrapin 4th graders had a great time on their field trip to Strong Arm bakery. What better way to learn about fractions than through cooking? They're ready to do some math and get baking ASAP! 🍪@GCPSchools

We’re continuing to have a blast exploring careers in Transylvania County. It’s safe to say the Davidson River students loved visiting Pisgah Collective Pre-K; we already have students applying for internships!

We spent Saturday working with students all over @BuncombeSchools to practice the art of printmaking, and it was awesome!!!

The Tar River Terrapins were hard at work today making phonics games and reporting on the weather. We love planning projects with this team!

Awesome visit with @SylvanSport this morning! When we asked students what they would hope to have in their own careers someday, they wanted their coworkers to be their friends, and for everyone to be great at communicating, just like the SylvanSport team. 💚

It’s always a blast being with the @TRESTerrapins staff! Paper airplanes are a great way to practice feedback, and they can connect to every content area…plus they’re just a lot of fun. 📃✈️😁
