Our new issue cover is graced with a linocut entitled "Making Democracy Work" by Sandile Goje, housed in the Constitutional Court Art Collection in #SouthAfrica. It was created shortly after the founding of the Constitutional Court & democratic elections formally ended apartheid.
The #ConstitutionalCourt notes "Inspired by the hearings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 1996 and the Constitutional Court’s logo unveiled in 1995, the artist depicts televised, court-like proceedings, suggesting that democracy is dependent on public participation."
