We @Conservatives understand just how important the hospitality sector is, not just for economic growth but to provide great opportunities for young people. In contrast to this jobs destroying Labour government, with @griffitha at the helm of HM Treasury, we’ll be backing job creation and growth in the hospitality sector 💯% 📈 🚀 @UKHofficial @NextGenTories @ConsHospitality

Our Founder @cdonnithorne1 writing for @ConHome setting out the damage being inflicted on the hospitality & tourism sector by this Labour government. @griffitha @Conservatives
From @cdonnithorne1 I run a fish & chip restaurant - trust me when I say 'Labour’s battering hospitality' conservativehome.com/2026/09…

Labour launches new tax assault on hospitality. This is another tax on hardworking families, because Labour is unwilling to take the difficult decisions and cut welfare spending. telegraph.co.uk/business/202…

We’re delighted that @griffitha has been appointed Shadow Chancellor. Andrew understands the challenges facing small businesses and what needs to be done to unleash growth and opportunity. This is great news. And a great appointment by @KemiBadenoch
It is a huge honour to become Shadow Chancellor for the party I joined as a teenager under Margaret Thatcher. Working as a team, we Conservatives will deliver an economic revolution. We will deliver lower, simpler taxes, get Britain drilling again to bring down energy costs, slash the red tape holding Britain back, and scrap the job-killing measures in Labour’s (Un)Employment Rights Act. A strong country needs a strong economy. The Conservatives will always back the risk-takers and wealth creators who deliver growth, investment and jobs.

Our Founder, @cdonnithorne1 giving @griffitha a shift in his fish & chip shop to explain the challenges facing hospitality & tourism SMEs. Only the Conservatives have a plan to: ✅ Cut energy prices ✅ Tackle youth unemployment ✅ Scrap business rates ✅ Create more jobs
Local businesses like Seasmiths in Town work hard to serve their communities. Labour are making life so much more difficult for them. The Conservatives will always back business. That’s why we’ll slash red tape, cut taxes and make it easier to hire, invest and grow. 🐟🍟

Pro-business policies supported by small businesses. Our Chairman, @cdonnithorne1, worked with @griffitha to develop the ‘Save the Summer Job’ campaign. Only the Conservatives have a plan to tackle rising youth unemployment by making it easier for businesses to hire them.

The summer job is a rite of passage for young people. It’s more than just a job. It helps them make money, save and teaches them important life skills too. The Conservatives have a plan to protect the summer job by making it easier for businesses to hire young people again.

Don’t fall for the spin. Andy’s new business rates policy isn’t a cut… he’s part of a Labour team that have almost DOUBLED the rates of pubs. And nothing for cafes, restaurants or small restaurants. New Leader. Same Old Labour.
Don't fall for Burnham's business rates spin. The average pub will STILL pay almost twice what it used to. Labour's trick: more than double business rates, then apply a tiny 20% cut and hope nobody notices. Our plan: 100% relief for pubs, restaurants, shops, and more.

This is another EXCELLENT policy proposal from @Conservatives. Backing businesses. Backing young people. Backing hospitality & tourism. Sensible reforms to unleash growth and jobs. Only the Conservatives will Get Britain Working Again!
Young people deserve a chance. Part-time summer jobs make the step into full-time work so much easier. That's why we're campaigning to Save the Summer Job.

Hospitality is united that #VATsTheProblem. A new sector-wide campaign, spearheaded by @ChefTomKerridge, is calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%. Hospitality pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support the sector. Sign the petition today 👇 vatstheproblem.co.uk/

A VAT cut will save British Hospitality. I don’t care which political party you are in. If you support a VAT cut, you’re on the side of our industry. We need a VAT cut now.
“Slash VAT & Business Rates.” That’s the message from Andy Burnham at #NTES26 2 million UK jobs depend on hospitality - yet venues are still closing. Europe backs its sector. The UK must too. Reform just aren’t serious. Their Treasury Spokesman doesn’t even know the detail. Clearly hasn’t read the paper. He should have. He would have then seen it isn’t costed and won’t be delivered. The @Conservatives must immediately outline a plan to cut VAT that’s fully costed.

Starmer and Reeves both hate hospitality. We now understand the motivation behind their cruel tax hikes on our pubs, cafes & restaurants. They want them gone. Bastards. Well we want Starmer & Reeves gone. Labour MPs must do the right thing for hospitality and the Country.

OUR PLAN FOR YOUNG PEOPLE 1 Cut the number of places on poor value uni courses. 2 Use the savings from this to free graduates from the interest rate treadmill & deliver 100,000 more apprenticeships a year. 3 Let people keep the first £5k of tax they'd have paid on starting work.

Unemployment will continue to worsen until we get a VAT cut for Hospitality. Everyone knows it makes sense. It’s do or die for the sector.

This is what happens when you tax the hell out of hospitality businesses. The pubs, cafes and fish & chip shops that for years kept youngsters employed - giving them a chance and experience of the world of work. Young people aren’t working because Labour isn’t working.
Labour isn’t working.
