‘It’s no wonder young people feel there’s nothing worth defending.’
As the majority of Brits say they wouldn’t fight for their country, @BenKentish and @ConorWilson2 reflect on the ‘distinct lack of patriotism’ in the UK.
Well said @DavidReedMP . It is utterly pathetic
There’s something profoundly weird about watching Yusef and Jenrick cosplay as military commanders, seemingly getting a peculiar little thrill from fantasising about sending the Royal Marines out to use lethal force against civilians. It’s all rather creepy.
Meanwhile, some of our most highly trained soldiers are still being dragged through the courts decades after serving in Northern Ireland, where they faced actual armed paramilitaries.
I suspect most Royal Marines would find these two deeply unserious. Imagine being lectured on the use of lethal force by a pair of excitable populists playing soldiers, knowing full well that following their orders could leave you facing murder charges decades later.
There’s something especially strange about politicians who have never faced combat appearing so enthusiastic about ordering other people to kill. All very easy when it’s someone else’s finger on the trigger and someone else’s future in the dock.

Someone should probably point out to Nigel Farage that Reform’s own policy is to withdraw the Royal Navy’s South Atlantic Patrol Vessel and use it to take migrants back to France.

Trump: I demand Greenland!
Denmark: No.
Trump: Ok, how about you agree not to let Russia and China establish military bases there?
Denmark: Well I mean we weren’t going to do…you know what? Deal!
Trump: My enemies fold again.

It was Sheeran’s statement following Macklemore’s removal that really enraged the mob.
There is “suffering and pain” on “both sides” in this war, he said. Oh Ed, no. You must never acknowledge the suffering of Israelis. You must never mention that they were raped and slaughtered in a pogrom of Nazi proportions just three years ago.
In the eyes of the Gaza cult, sympathy for Israelis is the greatest transgression of all. For it does something unforgivable: it humanizes the Jews of the Holy Land. It reminds us they are not in fact “genocidal maniacs.”
It reintroduces nuance and truth, puncturing the infantile and bigoted dogmas of an activist class that insists Israel and her people are evil incarnate. Sheeran will not soon be forgiven for his sins of humanization.

How have I never seen this before? 😂
Surely through a 2026 lense we can agree that this is bat shit crazy? Surely wouldn't happen now

Throw a milkshake at farage and Reform will claim its an assassination attempt. Assault a women with a weapon and reform response is
"Boo hoo"
The hypocrisy is wild.
It’s the Brentness of this that I find sickening. He knows it’s bad but he’s trying to feign a lack of interest in a bid to relate to the worst of Reform’s base.
The party of free speech justifying a beating for exercising free speech.
'What did you expect them to do?'
Robert Jenrick reacts to footage of Reform conference attendees manhandling a protestor, and claims he has 'no sympathy'.

The party that protects women and girls apparently…
"Oh, boo hoo."
Reform UK Treasury spokesperson Robert Jenrick tells a protester who appeared to have been hit by members at the party's conference to "get a life".

As a veteran I am horrified that Reform would seek to give immunity against crimes that would never be acceptable, such as rape, torture or the execution of prisoners-of-war.
The British Army is the finest professional fighting force in the world and it operates within the law of armed conflict.
We must always support our personnel and veterans against malicious prosecutions, but to give immunity from prosecution for crimes like rape and torture is unthinkable.

Not true, and you know it. It is about opening up veterans to extra-judicial processes in a way that you and your friends have limited or closed off to terrorists.
This is a call for armed forces personnel to be placed above the law. No country claiming to be a democracy can allow this.
