🤖 What if your agent could keep working while the same session stays available across @code, the browser, and other machines?
That’s what we’re building with Agent Host!

Another @code mega thread 🧵
Been a long time since I published one - probably ever since weekly releases started
@code is moving fast on the agentic development experience, and some of the most interesting changes are not the flashy ones. Or are they? - you'll be the judge of that ;-)
From sub-agents and orchestration to browser interactions, context retrieval, new tools and small UX improvements that change how we work with agents.
Collecting the updates that caught my attention, and more importantly, what I think they mean for the future of AI-native development.
Let’s dive in 👇

🎉 @code supports enterprise managed auth via a new OAuth spec called ID-JAG.
While it will take some time for the big names in IdP to adopt, this is an exciting extension of MCP that has implications beyond just less sign in prompts (although who doesn’t like less sign ins 😊).
Replying to @ClaudeDevs
Built on an MCP extension that any client, server, or IdP can adopt.

VS Code just announced MCP Apps support! 🔥
Here's one I just made that visualizes git commit history. You can also multi-select commits and have Copilot generate release notes for you!

Today, the MCP community is announcing MCP Apps, the first official MCP extension. @code is the first major AI code editor with full MCP Apps support.
With MCP Apps, tool calls can now return interactive UI components that render directly in the conversation. Learn more: code.visualstudio.com/blogs/…

Here's a little sneak peak into the experimental @storybookjs MCP server we're still working hard on. 👀
@code being so quick to add support for MCP features like MCP Apps is absolutely fantastic. 🙏 And a special thanks to @ConnorPeet for the collaboration.

MCP Apps in @code - now for real
I added support in promptboost.dev MCP to test it out
This is more than cool - it lets apps expose only what matters in chat, without dragging the whole site along.
Think Jira tasks, graph descriptions, sliced stats - still text for agents, now with a purpose-built visual UI.
It's mind blowing how fast @code adopts the MCP spec to its fullest - thanks again @ConnorPeet
Still behind a flag and only in Insiders - chat.mcp.apps.enabled: true
Did you know you can look for more than just files in @code's Ctrl/Cmd+P?
Just add a character in front. You've probably seen `>` for commands, but did you know that there's...
