Congress welcomed over 360 student winners from more than 230 Congressional Districts to the U.S. Capitol for this year’s #HouseOfCode, part of one of Congress’ largest bipartisan initiatives, and for two days the building felt a little different. Students brought their apps, their ideas, and the thinking behind them straight to the people who represent them.
Members of Congress did not just pass through, they stopped, asked questions, and leaned in. Hear what they had to say 🧵

The @CongressionalAC presents students with an opportunity to creatively exercise their knowledge of technology. It was a pleasure speaking @UNLV yesterday about this program. #BuildTheChallenge @Roblox
Three cities. Three time zones. Five days. More than 150 students building, learning, and getting ready for the 2026 Congressional App Challenge.
Our summer tour with @Roblox just wrapped stops in Tampa, Topeka, and Las Vegas. Here are the results:
📍Las Vegas, NV (8/7/2026)
@UNLV hosted our largest Build the Challenge yet with over 80 students registering for the event and another 100 on the waitlist to get in.
We were joined by @repdinatitus, @RepHorsford, and @RepSusieLee alongside members of the Nevada State Assembly and leaders from across the university to get hands-on with @Roblox, talk about the future of STEM, and prep students from across Nevada for the 2026 Congressional App Challenge.

Congratulations to Allison Tan, PA-05's 2025 Congressional App Challenge winner!
After volunteering in a hospital ER and meeting with overdose patients who had difficulty filling their prescriptions for buprenorphine, a life-saving medication for opioid use disorder, Allison developed OpiWarrior.
Her app helps people quickly find nearby pharmacies in Philadelphia that stock their medicine.
