With Tait it’s important we don’t conflate arm talent with arm strength. Velocity isn’t the question, it’s accuracy - touch, layering, occasional reckless gunslinger throws. Hasn’t played a snap so waiting and seeing, but that’s the shared concern internally and with HS scouts
"Reynolds has enough arm talent — and enough swagger — to keep this duel going until the final draw."
Our takeaways from day two of fall camp are here, and the Clemson QB battle is heating up:

Just my opinion, but I’m not sympathetic to this argument at all.
Sometimes you leave a company and your friends that stay behind get better benefits a year later. You don’t get to go back and get an extra 2% tacked onto your 401k.
The players got their chance to play college football and made enough out of it to garner NFL looks. Will those in favor of this move come back in a few years and rally in favor of extra years for the players who these 23 and 24 year old men steal snaps on tape from? Do those guys get a chance later? NONE of these fifth year guys should be playing, whether once on NFL rosters or not.
Rules change. Institutions adjust to the times. Sometimes you get a bad break. The so called advocates for these athletes are only setting them up for failure later.
And just so we’re clear, this same brand of thinking is why we are on the verge of a 24 team playoff that will cause a decrease in interest in the regular season. Nobody wants to say “you should have made more plays.” Or “you shouldn’t have lost that game”
Participation trophy culture has infected CFB from the highest levels down and we have nothing but a complete and total lack of leadership on many levels to blame for it.
The court has ruled in favor of the athletes! Again, they are not professional football players circling back after years in the NFL. They are college players who were told, by the NCAA, that they were done. So they took the only door that was open, only to watch the NCAA change the lock behind them.
I am sure these athletes are relieved and anxious to get back in the game!
Let’s spot the ball! #GeauxTigers!

Georgia won 29 straight games, lost by 3 on a bad call to Bama in the SEC title, got dropped from 1 to 6, and instead of bitching and moaning about refs and committees they went and laid a 63-3 beat down on FSU in a game where all of their healthy draftable players played
Look where UGA is now and tell me it didn’t matter. How you do anything is how you do everything. If your core program traits only matter when things go your way then they don’t actually matter. Notre Dame just told their players it’s okay to quit when things don’t go your way. I think it will have negative consequences on the immediate future of the program

We sacrificed bowl season for a playoff that will be 50% unwatchable.
Hordes of fans and media demanded this system no matter how many times we showed why it wouldn’t work. This was entirely avoidable.
I’m seriously disgusted right now.

The whole thing about one team losing in a CCG while another sits at home is superficial when they had the benefit of a radically easier conference schedule.
SMU played 1 of the top-3 other teams in the ACC (Miami, Syracuse, and Clemson), and lost.

We can argue this back-and-forth until we're blue in the face, but the whole point is that Indiana choosing to buy out their lone P4 game out of conference, and getting the easiest draw in the B1G, MADE us have to argue this with absolutely no data points. It just is what it is.

A concern with Ole Miss's Princely Umanmielen:
- He was UF's sack leader in 2023, being #6 in the SEC in sacks, #10 in TFLs (per game).
- But, vs ranked teams only, he was just 32nd/26th.
- Like Perkins at LSU, he's speed rush or bust.
Tx @ConfCommandos for the inspiration.

The overriding issue is that people haven't processed that not only did the PAC-12 fold, but the Big 12 and G5 are both weaker than the recent past.
The Big 12 is essentially 2nd tier B12/PAC teams + the top G5 teams (Cincy, BYU, Houston, UCF).
The G5 is now just cannon fodder.
