If you need a smile today please enjoy Rocky being “walked” by his disabled brother Coconut. It’s not just a little thing either. Watch at the end and you’ll see they know exactly what they are doing. Dogs truly are special creatures ❤️

“Most of us have small, sad places in our hearts. My father felt deeply but kept his feelings to himself. Or rather, being a writer, he let them escape in his writing. And so such sadnesses as there were put on cap and bells and emerged as Eeyore.”~C.R.Milne #WorldMentalHealthDay

On the morning of September 11, 2001, Ladder 118, a fire truck from the New York City Fire Department, made its way across the Brooklyn Bridge toward the World Trade Center. The image of the truck, laden with courageous firefighters heading into the chaos, has become an iconic representation of bravery in the face of unimaginable tragedy. They were responding to the unfolding crisis, unaware of the danger that awaited them. This photo, taken by Aaron McLamb, captures the moment of determination and service, as these men were about to face their ultimate sacrifice. Shortly after reaching the World Trade Center, the firefighters of Ladder 118 entered the towers to assist with rescue operations. Tragically, all of them lost their lives when the buildings collapsed. Their heroic actions exemplified the selflessness and courage that firefighters are known for, especially during catastrophic events. Their sacrifice serves as a solemn reminder of the risks first responders take, often putting their lives on the line to save others. The image of Ladder 118 crossing the Brooklyn Bridge stands as a tribute to the fallen heroes of 9/11. It immortalizes the dedication of those who rushed toward danger when others were fleeing, representing the spirit of resilience and duty that defined the emergency response on that day. Their legacy is remembered by many, not just for their sacrifice, but for the profound impact their bravery continues to have on future generations. #archaeohistories

On the morning of September 11, 2001, Madeline Amy Sweeney, a thirty-five-year-old American Airlines flight attendant on Flight 11 from Boston to Los Angeles, used an Airfone to reach operations supervisor Michael Woodward after the cockpit went silent and the cabin was no longer under the crew’s control. Instead of panicking, she started gathering information. She did not use the call to describe her own fear. She gave seat numbers, described the men who had taken the aircraft, reported wounded passengers and crew, and said a passenger had been stabbed. Woodward later remembered a steady voice and precise detail. She identified Mohamed Atta among those involved. The line stayed open as the Boeing 767 turned toward New York. At 8:46 a.m. it struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Everyone aboard was killed. Investigators treated her account as some of the first reliable information from inside the flight. She left a husband and two children, Jack, four, and Anna, seven. She could not retake the aircraft. She could still say who was on it and what the cabin had become, and she kept saying it until the call ended.

Insurance executive Kevin Cosgrove calls 911 from the 105th floor of the South Tower — above the point of impact. He begs firefighters to hurry to him. The operators can do nothing to help, but they stay on the line with Kevin until the skyscraper collapses. "Tell God to blow the wind from the west. It’s really bad. It’s black. It’s arid. Does anyone else wanna chime in here? We’re young men. We’re not ready to die."

A post office was named in honor of Tom Burnett, the Catholic hero of United Airlines Flight 93 who gave his life trying to retake the hijacked plane from the terrorists on September 11, 2001. The stories of these brave heroes who sacrificed their lives to save others continue to inspire us 25 years later.
