🚨BREAKING: The historic Limoges Town Hall in central France has been largely destroyed after rioters set it on fire during nationwide cost-of-living protests. The 143-year-old Hôtel de Ville, built in 1883 and designated a historic landmark in 1975, was broken into around 6 p.m. Saturday by masked individuals who started the blaze. The roof collapsed onto the lower floors and the spire fell as flames engulfed the building. Local prefect Maurice Barate said two-thirds of the exterior has already disappeared and called it a “deliberate act by hooligans” and a “catastrophe for heritage.” Firefighters were still battling the fire late into the night. Businesses nearby were also looted. This is TERRIBLE!
