Holy cow. This is University of Wisconsin, Madison, where hundreds of young people are marching to polls with Yung Gravy, a hugely popular rapper among young people. This is huge. Gen Z are alright & turning out like never before. Amazing.
Honestly never thought I would take a midterm again - how humbling. Also since when did midterms become 3 times in a semester…? #BackToSchool #backtocool
Staying up late to finish homework........ I feel like I'm too old for this?! Experiencing just 1 class with an active toddler gives me a new level of respect for college/graduate school students who are also parents.
I’ve made the mistake of trying to wear the cute shoes on day 1 of too many conferences. Next time I will get this right…
Had the BEST time in Iowa city learning from the HD team and seeing how their precision-based care effects outcomes for the better - plus the physiology is so cool 🤓 😎
We recently completed our August HD Observership Experience! It was an amazing opportunity to share knowledge in the field of neonatal hemodynamics.

Today is my first day back at school! Excited to start taking coursework again, but a little nervous for... homework?! #firstdayofschool @uwsmph

Do you request a TNE consult if a baby becomes critically ill? Maybe you should!
Hemodynamics consultation is associated with 25% lower overall mortality.

Neonatal AKI: 30% and 3 are Important Numbers.
In this systematic review of acute kidney injury in neonates, data from 201 observational studies showed significant heterogeneity of pooled estimates. On meta-analysis, point estimate of AKI incidence (any stage) was 30%, and that of mortality in AKI was 30%. Compared to infants without AKI, those with AKI had a 3-fold higher mortality (odds ratio 3.4). Risk factors were the well-known ones: perinatal asphyxia, sepsis, PDA, NEC, and nephrotoxic medications. #neotwitter #acutekidneyinjury #nephrology

Stoked to give a talk about differences between neos and cardiologists in regards to the PDA at the @AmerAcadPeds NCE! (Also first time for Disney with the toddler!)
Today I am going to my son’s preschool, bringing our household stethoscopes, and talking to the kiddos about being a doctor. My son is so excited (and I am too)! One of those cool parenting moments.
I asked copilot to help make me a picture of a happy newborn baby and these are just too good not to share!
Thing I learned today: power outages are very hard for toddlers to understand. My son was very angry that I was “withholding” his morning train show….. the amount of times we had to keep trying to turn on the TV a was comical.
A question for #neotwitter - I would like to get my masters in clinical investigations/clin epi. Since I will need to pay for it (not a part of my fellowship) I want to consider all options. Anyone have recommendations for distance/virtual programs? Thank you!
Today is a cool day - I got a grant and get to talk about some exciting study results to @WiscPediatrics . What a way to start what looks like is going to be a lovely weekend!
I don’t know when I became someone who is picky about coffee but that’s my reality and Kirkland isn’t cutting anymore - help!

Absolutely agree! An excellent episodes that highlights using NIRS as a tool, and on the flip side of that understanding the nuances of what they values COULD mean and figuring out how to dig deeper.

Lucky to have a @TripleBadger10 as a great research mentor! This is an area ripe for exploration and potentially a better early warning system for detecting kidney injury! Excited to continue to study this! More to come!
