I encounter two major problems on a daily basis: 1) Patients having been told that their pain won't (can't) change and they should "manage" it instead. 2) Clinicians/patients expecting quick changes in symptoms. My philosophy is that pain can & does change but it takes time.

Replying to @DrErinReynolds
@UPMCSportsMed @concussionnorth If a player continues playing for just 15 minutes after the initial injury, the average recovery time doubles from 19-21 days to 40”. This statistic is a great message to share with athletes who STILL think it’s OK to play through a concussion.

Accessibility isn't just physical; it's an attitude. I've been in #accessible buildings where the staff have treated me like I'm stupid and an inconvenience. I've also been in buildings with make-shift access where I've been treated as a human being, and I keep going back. ♿️

Getting bright light in the morning could be just as important for improving sleep as avoiding blue light exposure at night. After exposure to daytime bright light, evening use of a tablet for two hours did not affect sleep in healthy young students. sleep-journal.com/article/S1…

Watching very intelligent people in my profession continuing to argue how to treat different pathology differently without even considering what the pts issues/disabilities are makes me sad, angry and very very tired! 😕😣😢 #WhenWillWeLearn
