Let’s get something straight. We need MORE Hispanic representation in rooms with government leaders like Tom Homan… not less. You may not like the room. You may not like the administration. You may not like the conversation. But adults don’t solve problems by screaming from a fake green screen on Instagram. Real leaders have the courage to sit at the table, ask hard questions, and make sure our community is represented and our voice is heard when decisions are being made. @gabywallstreet has been a voice for the Latino community for over a decade. She personally knows Tom. She sat on the board with him at him nonprofit a few years ago. They looked for her because they wanted, and desperately needed, a Latino perspective on these issues. That matters. Now let’s talk about the with facts about immigration enforcement, not emotional manipulation that the fake news media propaganda machine wants you to believe. If you have ever left the country you should know, literally every country in the world has rules about who can enter their country and how long they can stay. Latinos are not being targeted simply because of the color of their skin or their ethnicity. In fact all the people being deported are not Hispanic. Immigration enforcement is not about RACE it’s about your legal visa status and citizenship. It does not matter if someone came from India, England, Peru, Mexico, or anywhere else. If a person is not legally authorized to remain in the United States, whether they overstay their visa or have it revoked, they MUST leave the country willingly or they will be removed under immigration law. This was the same policy under Obama who appointed Tom Homan and every other administration both democrat and republican. That is not racism. That is not hate. That is called immigration law. A clear example: 104 Indian nationals were deported to India on February 5, 2025. They were not Latino. They were deported under the same immigration enforcement framework that everyone else has to follow. Milo Yiannopoulos, a British commentator, is another example of a non-Latino individual who was deported after overstaying his visa. That is the point people keep pretending not to understand: immigration enforcement is not only about the southern border, and it is not only about Latinos. This event was the Hispanic Leadership Summit. Latino Republicans had the opportunity to ask questions directly to members of the Trump administration including Tom Homan. Gaby was not “celebrating people being hunted.” That accusation is dishonest, distasteful and disgusting. She was celebrating the reduction of violence, the fight against sex trafficking at the southern border, and the rescue of tens of thousands of missing children that was just announced. You can disagree politically. Fine. But don’t say you want Latino voices heard if you only support the ones that agree with you and don’t pretend you’re defending the Latino community while trying to silence one of the few Latinas in the world with the courage, access, and influence to actually make an impact.
