🚨: This isn’t our Galaxy. 😳 You’re looking at billions of stars in the Andromeda galaxy, captured by the Hubble Space Telescope—and almost every one likely has planets. Let that sink in.

🆕 Webb is changing how we see the supermassive black hole at the heart of the Circinus Galaxy! 🕳️ The material (a powerful source of infrared light) near the black hole was thought to be streaming out from it – but new observations suggest it is actually feeding it. This image shows a view of the galaxy from @Hubble_Space with a detail of the galaxy’s core from Webb. Read more: ow.ly/nM8x50XW5nI #WebbSeesFarther 📷 @NASA , @ESA , @csa_asc , E. Hanging around in your pajamas? Takes notes from the tiger leg tree frog. Unlike many frogs, this nocturnal amphibian doesn’t hop: Instead, it crawls through the trees like a monkey! It can be spotted in parts of South America.

Love is in the air, so grab your cuddle buddy! Hawaiian monk seals & green sea turtles can often be found snoozing together on the same beaches, sharing body heat and enjoying the vibes. Both animals love to sunbathe, sometimes spending days at a time lying on the sand.🐢🦭🏝️💕

The booth I spent the most time at was @ComputerLunch's Cell To Singularity game, an idle-clicker that covers everything from the beginning of the universe to technology and humanity. This game truly embodies #STEM and #GameBasedLearning.

The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound. Here it's amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!

It’s National #ArborDay 🌳🌲 Today marks the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day! Planting native trees where they’re needed most is more critical than ever for birds and all of America’s wildlife. From seed to dirt, trees are an important element of the landscape for wildlife.💚

It's a good time to see Venus in the morning sky. The planet is at its brightest this month, rising with Mars in the pre-dawn hours. Look for the brilliant “morning star” in the east. solarsystem.nasa.gov/skywatc… #VisionsOfVenus

🏠 Home, home on Lagrange! We successfully completed our burn to start #NASAWebb on its orbit of the 2nd Lagrange point (L2), about a million miles (1.5 million km) from Earth. It will orbit the Sun, in line with Earth, as it orbits L2. blogs.nasa.gov/webb/2022/01/… #UnfoldTheUniverse
