The “low hanging fruit” of our solid waste problem, if we got food out of the trash we could reduce disposal by 25%. Great first step to phasing out landfills and incinerators. @ilsr @MOF_Mass @otowncompost @CompostBoston @WasteNotCompost @CompostBrooklyn @SierraClub @GAIAnoburn

Our friends at @compostboston offer a curbside pickup service where you can bring a new life to your scraps! They were generous enough to donate 15 buckets of compost, which came just in time for our pollinator garden maintenance. Visit bit.ly/3MTeErP to sign up!

If just half of food scraps flowing to landfills and incinerators were diverted to community composters, over 50,000 new jobs could be created from composting alone.
That's on par with the coal mining industry.

.@DoleTweets all we wanted was an organic banana. What we got was that, plus a whole lotta #plasticpollution.😖 What are you doing to #RethinkPackaging & help rid the world of this needless #waste? Could you use a different color of banana hat for "organic" & skip the stickers?
