Pay attention to what your hitters are doing when nobody is telling them what to do. That's how you know who they really are ...

There are those 3 things that most young hitters can benefit from the most. Sometimes I set up the stations to focus more on these 3 things and allow the hitters to figure out to make them happen.

Commit early. Pay later. A big, early, fully-loaded move is a bat-speed move AND an adjustability tax. Stay flexible a beat longer and your window gets bigger — not because you're faster, but because less of the swing was spent early. #hitting #softball #baseball

Issue #12 is live. AUSL players unionize, first-ever youth mental health guidelines published, and a burnout study that says recovery and flow are the real protective factors. complete.game/blog #CompleteGame #SeeThinkMove

Batspeed does not determine contact quality or timing. By itself, batspeed is a deceptive metric.

Two pro hitters. 72.3 mph and 71.0 mph. Same bat speed. Not the same hitter. One had 22.1 g of rotational acceleration. The other had 7. Bat speed is the most overrated number on your report. Here's what actually moves exit velo: complete.game/blog/two-hitte…

If the hitters I work with cannot self-coach, I have failed them.

True. Buying a word.

We out here throwing the "ELITE" word around a lot lately. Elite is not something, you buy or sign up for, or a team you join. Elite is a mindset & a way of going about doing things. You learn it & maintain it at the kitchen table & on the car ride home. It's not 4sale. It never has been & it never will be. If you're still unsure, the game will let you know you're not it.

The internet will have you thinking it's about your skill/talent when you really should be more concened with what type of person/human you are becoming. Are you becoming the person who can sustain success or are you chasing who you want people to think you are?

The mistake: training fall like it's spring. Same drills. Different season. Wrong result. Spring is a sharpening season — you're refining something already built, in-season, under a game schedule. Fall is a building season. Different intent, different volume, different tolerance for looking bad on the way through. Run spring's plan in the fall and you'll peak beautifully in a month that doesn't matter. Day 6 is up in The Inner Circle. → complete.game — Rob Crews
