Last month, Andy Burnham made an announcement that could end up transforming British politics.
Whichever party we vote for (and we're a politically diverse bunch!), we all agree: he deserves a nice cold pint for this.
Cheers, Andy! Now let's make it happen.🍻

Andy Burnham closed out our conference 16 months ago with a speech outlining the wholesale reform Britain needs - electoral reform, the public ownership of water, a national housebuilding programme. We hoped he could give it on the party conference stage sooner rather than later. We backed him to do this.
18 months on, we are utterly vindicated in that decision.
Here, the public gets what it has been crying out for. A Prime Minister no longer tinkering around the edges but committing to actual political, economic and social reform.

At our conference last year, Andy Burnham spoke to the need to renew working class ambition.
Today he spoke of it as Prime Minister in his speech at Labour Conference.
Alongside a National Commission on Electoral Reform and public ownership in the water industry.
A couple of weeks back, over 450 people had the pleasure of hearing Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham's (@AndyBurnhamGM) keynote speech at CHANGE: HOW? A Decade of Radical Renewal.
In it, he spoke to working class ambition and how it can be restored:

He self deprecatingly calls himself “the most naive person in left-wing politics”. Has he been duped again?

Ahead of Labour Conference, figures from across the party have come together to send this message.
Labour now has a historic opportunity to restore hope and trust in our democracy, and change our politics for the better.
We're calling on Andy Burnham to seize it.

“In doing this, Andy Burnham would show progressive voters and the Labour movement he can be trusted to keep his word – and that he really does intend to be a great, reforming Prime Minister.”
