Social Security Reform #SocialSecurity
Proposal to triple benefits for citizens for those entering the workforce
Privatize Social Security & allow citizens to invest funds in pre approved investments
Straight retirement account with no disability benefits or other elements - these can be added by government separately if Congress wants to provide this
Investment Options (this is only choice)
70% in Total Stock Market Index ETF
30% in Aggregate Bond Market Index ETF
Money goes into the individual citizen's account every time someone gets paid (just like social security taxes are deducted now from paychecks)
Money grows tax free until distribution in retirement
Fund fee cap of 0.05% & no ability for government to mandate where investment dollars go
Auto rebalance to 70% / 30% once a year on your birthday
To be clear, index includes an estimate of all stocks and bonds in the US markets - no segmentation, leverage or sub targeting allowed
Rules for distributions are the same as IRAs (Required Minimum Distributions or RMD)
At death, remaining money rolls to beneficiaries (same rules as current IRAs)
No emergency withdrawals allowed
Benefits :
Increases retirement income dramatically (more than 3 times greater) & eliminates the challenge of funding a defined benefit retirement plan (which is what Social Security is currently)
There will never be a drain on the federal government finances from Social Security again for those in these new private plans
Example :
Assuming your invest social security taxes for an individual into the 70% stock / 30% bond portfolio with returns well below historical levels of 7% for stocks & 3% for bonds, total payouts of benefits would be 3.2 times the benefits that the individual would receive in the current social security system and there would be money left over at death to transfer to family
Average annual return for the S&P 500 has been 12.9% in my working lifetime & total bond market aggregate has been 6.1% return annually
This is such and easy and effective way to reform the system
$COST Costco to release earnings today
My estimate is for EPS of $6.28 & annual EPS of $20.29 for 2026
8.0% Q4 revenue growth and 7.0% Q4 EPS growth
Net margin of 3.0%
$93.05 billion of revenue in Q4
Annualized revenue / warehouse rises to over $320 million
Keep an eye out for the announcement on a special dividend of $15 per share in the next quarter or two (cash ended at $19 billion last quarter)
Initial estimate for EPS for 2027 of $21.92 so stock trading at 41 times forward earnings
@COST Earnings versus my estimates
EPS beat ($6.75 vs $6.28)
Q4 Revenue growth 11.1% versus estimate of 8.0%
Net margin 3.13% versus estimate of 3.00%
$95.7 billion of revenue versus $93.1 billion estimate
Annualized revenue / warehouse $326 million versus $320 million estimate
No special dividend announced but Costco did issue $500 million of debt in the quarter even with large cash position - not sure why with robust cash flow & large cash holdings???
EPS estimate for 2027 raised to $22.11 from $21.92 after updating models
Overall, great quarter. Tariff refunds created $0.15 / share EPS non recurring benefit with remaining EPS beat of $0.32 from higher gas prices & inflation related pricing benefits (greater than my estimate)
Solid momentum and management was optimistic on their earnings call
Proposal to triple Social Security benefits for future citizens, eliminate Federal budget drag permanently, and a mechanism for all citizens to share in US economic prosperity

Maybe it is time to refocus on reading, writing and arithmetic skills?
Woke social engineering and propaganda efforts by teachers are hurting our children tremendously

The latest PISA results show rich-world teenage literacy and numeracy declining further.
Well on our way to socialism & a guarantee of high inflation #Socialism
"Transfer receipts in national economic accounting (such as the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis NIPA tables) are payments received by individuals, businesses, or governments for which no current goods or services are provided in return. They represent a one-way redistribution of income rather than compensation for active economic production."
Steven Miller responding to CNN's use of undocumented immigrant versus illegal alien in their effort to humanize the issue :
“Humanize? Then let’s humanize the Penal Code too. The bank robber becomes a ‘specialist in unscheduled withdrawals’. The con artist turns into an ‘entrepreneur of alternative financial narratives’. The guy who breaks into your house uninvited is just a ‘visitor with pending documentation’. How about that?”

Proposal to increase Social Security benefits by more than 3 times current payouts
Eliminates the drag on Federal Govt budget - turns it into a surplus forever
Simplifies the program dramatically but strict parameters to prevent drift
Easy to understand

According to @SoberLook, Corporate pensions are fully funded again for the first time in almost two decades
A lot of talk about how the rich are doing so well while everyone else is left behind
Well - stock market performance has been so strong that underfunded pensions are disappearing
At one time, there was significant concern about this including the potential for cuts
Not any more - remarkable change
Side note : If Social Security was private, benefits would be triple what is provided today & there would be no pending depletion of the fund with 25% benefit cuts (See my pinned proposal to privatize Social Security)
Social Security has no stocks & very low returns (thus missing the benefit of the private sector returns from economic growth & American innovation over the past 10 years) ... changes to payout ratios in coming years will reduce returns for Social Security to a negative number
