I totally get that the Commanders don't have enough healthy bodies right now. I understand that they needed to create roster space. But there's a few things I don't get about waiving 6th-round RB Kaytron Allen, who has been claimed by the Dolphins. 1) Why not just put Marcus Mariota on IR? Jayden Daniels is back. Athan Kaliakmanis now has playing experience and is an adequate backup seemingly. (Or if not Mariota, was there no other injured player who might miss 2 to 3 weeks that you could have IR'd for a month?) 2) Why was it so important to keep Jeremy McNichols? He's a lot like Austin Ekeler, who is a lot like Rachaad White. They have three similar backs and Bill and zero players who are thumpers like Allen. The fact is, it's just a late-round RB and this isn't an organizational game changer. Just not quite sure why keeping Allen around wasn't a bigger priority than some of the older guys they've kept around.
