We won't always get what we want, but God will give you everything that you need in abundance.

What if the pain you're begging God to take away could become something sacred? There's a powerful truth about suffering that every Christian needs to hear. Blessed Archbishop Fulton Sheen taught that suffering without Christ is simply pain. But when we unite that suffering with Jesus, it becomes a sacrifice. The heartbreak you never saw coming. The person you trusted who betrayed you. The prayers you've whispered for years without an answer. The burden you carry that nobody else knows about. Here's what changes everything. Jesus never promised you a life without suffering. Instead, He chose to suffer alongside you. He carried a Cross so that the crosses you carry would never have to be meaningless. And this is where your pain can become something beautiful. When you tell Jesus, "Lord, I don't understand why this is happening, but I offer it to You," you're doing something extraordinary. You're turning your suffering into an act of love. In Romans 12:1, Saint Paul calls us to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God. That includes the difficult days, the silent tears, and the moments when trusting God feels almost impossible. The saints understood something many of us forget. They didn't love suffering. They loved Jesus enough to place their suffering in His hands. And through Him, even their deepest wounds could become offerings of love. So if you're carrying something painful today, remember this. You don't have to pretend it doesn't hurt. You don't have to understand why it's happening. And you don't have to carry it alone. Because the Cross teaches us something the world cannot. Pain doesn't always disappear when you give it to Jesus. But in His hands, it can become something greater than pain. It can become love. Tonight, whatever is weighing on your heart, try praying these simple words: "Jesus, I give You what I cannot change. Unite my suffering with Yours, and help me trust You even when I cannot see the purpose." 💬 And I want to ask you something. What's one burden you've been struggling to surrender to God? Share it in the comments if you're comfortable, so we can pray for one another. And share this so someone who needs to remember that even in their darkest moments, Jesus has not abandoned them.

His penance? Dump out a pillow. St. Philip Neri gave this penance to someone who confessed gossip, then instructed him to go gather every feather back. Words are the same: once they’re out, you can’t get them back. What helps you stop yourself before you gossip? #Catholic #Catholic101 #FatherRocky #StPhilipNeri

Sexual compatibility is one of the greatest lies of modern times. They’ll have you convinced it’s some sort of factual number you need to test before you commit to someone. But when people say this what they usually mean is — can you perform in some sort of fashion that would give me the most pleasure? It’s nothing to do with love, with devotion, with meaning, and it has everything to do with the body, with our flesh. Sexual intimacy is not something we can discover, it is only something we can build, and building intimacy is done by trust, by being exclusive and most of all by the lifelong covenant that is marriage. A good and healthy sexual relationship comes from fidelity, love and devotion, not the other way around. You cannot build a roof without first having a foundation. And so now that pleasure has become this new standard by which we now measure love and our desire for long term commitments it is no wonder that nobody ever stays for long. Pleasure is a terrible foundation, and that is because it was made to be the overflow, not the source.

🎭💡 “Masquerading as Light” | What If the Most Dangerous Error Sounds Biblical? The devil rarely introduces himself by saying, “Hello. I’m here to deceive you.” Scripture warns that Satan himself “masquerades as an angel of light.” That’s what makes deception dangerous: it often borrows something true. And few things sound more pious than: “Just God and the Bible.” “Scripture alone.” “Don’t trust fallible men.” Beautiful sentiment. But after five centuries, we should be willing to look at the fruit. Sincere, intelligent, Bible-loving Christians read the same Scriptures and arrive at contradictory doctrines about baptism, the Eucharist, salvation, perseverance, predestination, ordination, Church government and more. Everyone has verses. Everyone has scholars. Everyone can explain why everybody else is reading the “clear teaching of Scripture” incorrectly. So on October 31—the day of masks and the anniversary traditionally associated with the Reformation—“Masquerading as Light” asks a deliberately uncomfortable question: Did Christ actually establish “Scripture alone” as the way His Church would preserve the faith? Because Scripture itself gives us something different. Christ established a Church. He chose apostles and gave them authority. He gave Peter the keys. He commanded His followers to hear those He sent. When doctrinal controversy erupted in Acts 15, the response wasn’t thousands of independent Christians studying until everybody reached his own conclusion. The apostles and elders gathered, judged the controversy, and sent a binding decision to the churches: “It has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us…” And Paul’s response to Christian factionalism remains devastatingly simple: “Is Christ divided?” The irony of sola Scriptura isn’t that Protestants love the Bible too much. Many of our separated brothers and sisters love Christ deeply, treasure Scripture, and put many Catholics to shame in their knowledge of it. The problem is separating Scripture from the apostolic Church Christ established to preserve, proclaim and authentically interpret the deposit of faith. Trying to escape fallible human authority didn’t eliminate fallible human authorities. It multiplied them. Pastors. Confessions. Synods. Scholars. Denominations. Independent churches. And when the final earthly authority remains the individual deciding which interpretation of Scripture is correct, division becomes extraordinarily difficult to resolve. Christ knew what a failed builder looked like. He spoke of the man who began a tower and couldn't finish it, becoming an object of ridicule. Then Christ said something remarkable about His own building project: “I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” So did He start building, abandon the project for fifteen centuries, and wait for someone else to rescue it? Or should we trust that Christ actually did what He promised? 🎶 “Masquerading as Light” is a Halloween/Reformation Day ska-rap theological argument about Scripture, authority, Christian division, and the danger of defending the Bible by rejecting the ecclesiology the Bible itself reveals. Because you can love Scripture without believing in sola Scriptura. In fact, that’s precisely the point. You can't defend Scripture by ecclesial mutiny. #Catholic #CatholicFaith #PetersBarque #CatholicMusic #SolaScriptura #ReformationDay #Reformation #Halloween #Bible #BibleStudy #Apologetics #CatholicApologetics #ChristianUnity #ChurchHistory #Theology #ApostolicChurch Peter’s Barque is a catechetical musical project by Justin West. May the good Lord bless you and provide you the healing He wills for you. I turned 43 on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary earlier this month. Good age. Trust in the good Lord’s will. He is not outdone in generosity and takes care of His own.

What I don’t understand is how “Protestants” can think they are knowledgeable about anything concerning real Christianity when their whole take is protesting Jesus’s true one holy catholic and apostolic Church which includes a real relationship with Jesus Christ.

When you are in a loving relationship with someone, you do things out of love. I think the trouble sometimes is Protestants miss that Catholicism is not “just a religion” but an encounter and relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ and we do many things out of our love for Him.

Women should show their Creator the utmost respect for Mass. “Those” Men are actually being charitable giving fraternal correction to women who may be ignorant of certain morals, modesty, and decency.

This is a problem in our society; lack of decency. Like pointing out women should dress modestly out of respect for men who tend to be more visual; some women will turn it on the man instead of how they should be respectful and decent regardless.

What if the grace you've been praying for is waiting somewhere you rarely visit? We ask God for peace. We beg Him for direction. We pray for strength when life feels impossible. But how often do we actually make time to sit in His presence? Here's something beautiful about the Catholic faith that we sometimes forget. Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. And you don't have to wait until Sunday to spend time with Him. You don't need a beautiful prayer. You don't need the right words. You don't even need to know what to ask for. Sometimes, all you need to do is show up. St. Dominic Savio once said: “Do you want many graces? Go and visit the Blessed Sacrament often.” And that should make every Catholic stop and think. Because maybe the grace you need isn't some extraordinary miracle. Maybe it's the peace to get through another difficult day. Maybe it's the courage to walk away from temptation. Maybe it's the strength to forgive someone who hurt you. Or maybe it's simply the reassurance that you're not facing your struggles alone. And this is what I want you to remember. You can spend hours searching for answers everywhere else while forgetting to spend even a few minutes with the One you're praying to. Here's a challenge for you.. This week, find a Catholic church. Go inside. Put your phone away. And spend just ten minutes with Jesus. No distractions. No pressure to say anything extraordinary. Just be with Him. Because sometimes, what your soul needs most isn't another answer. It's time with Jesus. And if you believe He's truly present in the Eucharist, ask yourself this: What's keeping you from visiting Him more often? 💬 If we really believe Jesus is present in the Eucharist, why do you think so many of us struggle to spend time with Him? Share this with someone who needs a little encouragement to spend time with Jesus.
