I am not trying to diminish the poor man's life. What I am showing is how risky riding rollercoasters is in relation to driving. Every news channel has blown this up to point where people may now assign risk of death to rollercoasters much higher than actually exists. We don't know why he died yet meaning was he too big for restraint?
Keep things in perspective and I am truly sorry for his family. I lost my wife in 2023 so know the pain they are feeling.
Driving is far more dangerous than rollercoasters by a landslide.

$FUN before this horrible tragedy was getting blitzed with short selling and was down 80% from merger price. Only beneficiary was the ex CEO who walked away rich. Merger was never put up for a vote as they structured it just above 50% ownership for old $FUN unit holders. Whole thing smells rotten. My thesis for owning it here was Real estate value and Jana (activist) being involved. At this price, it's a very speculative turnaround. I still do not want them to cheapen food or guest experiences. I am hoping this was a one off and not a systemic safety issue. Big problem in general is relying on min wage teens to be your safety catch.

My take on tragedy.
No opinion at moment on stock. It's a blow tho for sure. I don't think this merger was smart at all. Legacy Cedar Fair was a well run well maintained amusement park operator. $FUN
It appears he was way too large to ride but I will await final results but photo shows a guy likely 350 lbs. What was he thinking? The employees should have stopped him. We will see what happens. Very sad tragedy.
In fairness, I believe, for example, the Cedar Point one was a guy jumping fence with clearly marked signs to go get his glasses or hat that fell off and he got hit. People are really dumb sometimes. Riding coasters is still 1000s of times safer than driving. It's like when a plane crashes. It's rare so very sensationalized. I pray for his family. 🌹
This mkt has many stocks that are very cheap. It's been a K shaped mkt. Overvalued and Undervalued. Reminds me of late 90s when everyone thought value was dead and dotcoms were the future.
Long term they are toast. They run their parks into ground with crap food at ridiculous prices and many attractions are closed. May be worst run amusement park operator ever. Short term may see per capita spending spike because of gouging. Long term those customers are gone. $FUN better option.
