Major Overseas Basketball news over the past week:

📍 FIBA & NBA

Stop trying to play in every Overseas league.
Instead, be specific and pinpoint your ideal landing spot:
- Playing style that suits you
- Teams that recruit your profile
- Somewhere you have some connects
- You speak the language
Try to align as many as possible.
Outside the NBA, Europe has the best competition in the world.
Surprisingly - it may also be one the easiest regions to get into.
Elite competition at the top.
But tons of divisions & beginner leagues at the bottom.
Overseas Basketball league salaries is some of the hardest info to find.
Why?
- Few leagues publish it
- Few leagues have player unions
- Many players lie or won’t tell
- Under-the-table deals happen
So everything you hear is an estimation.
Nothing is exact.

First EuroLeague game at 32.
A late bloomer? Maybe. But this has always been one of my biggest goals.
People ask me why it’s my first time… it’s hard to explain. My career wasn’t always stable. I spent years trying to find myself on the court, to figure out how I wanted to play, who I wanted to be as a player.
At some point, I stopped waiting for opportunities to find me… I started to HUNT them. Because I was hungry. Still am.
WNBA rookie at 31.
EuroLeague debut at 32.
My journey is mine, AND I wouldn’t change a thing.
To everyone out there chasing something: follow your own speed. Don’t compare your path to anyone else’s.
Work hard. Stay hungry. If you want it bad enough, the opportunity will come. Trust me. 💫

Load management doesn’t exist in Overseas Basketball.
You play tired.
You play hurt.
You play often.
Or you get sent home.
To get your game film Overseas you may have to:
- Pay a kid to record it
- Bring your own camera
- Screen record it online
- Travel to another city to get the film
Whatever it takes…do it.
Never leave without game film.

Feeling lost in your post-playing career?
Coach.
It’s the simplest & easiest way to get back on your feet.
Some fall in love with it.
Others don’t.
But at least it’s something you’re familiar with until you find your true calling post hooping.
Some European players are changing course.
Instead of the traditional Europe to the NBA path, it’s now:
Europe —> NCAA —>NBA
The craziest thing?
Many are coming from powerhouse European clubs and then going to the NCAA.
Example:
🇷🇺 Egor Dëmin
Real Madrid—> BYU—> Nets
