It was an absolute honor to reconnect with two true icons of American surgery, @2_ellison and Scott Melvin. Years ago, they took a chance on me, hiring me as faculty straight out of fellowship. The trust they placed in me fundamentally changed my career trajectory and shaped the surgeon educator I aspire to be. I am profoundly grateful for their mentorship, their enduring support and the indelible impact they have had on my professional journey.
