How do we raise hundreds of billions to invest in #UniversalChildCare and put a big down payment on fighting climate change? Easy: we make sure billionaire corporations can’t cheat the system and instead pay their fair share. My Corporate Minimum Tax plan would do just that.

May the light of Diwali remind us that from darkness there is knowledge, wisdom, and truth. From division, unity. From despair, hope.
To Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists celebrating in America and around the world — from the People’s House to yours, happy Diwali.

Less than seven hours left to vote today. Take a friend, take a coworker, take a friend’s coworker. Protect funding for fire, EMS, parks and libraries by voting NO on Prop A. #NoWayPropA

Let’s recommit to doing all we can to help make homes free of violence—to end cycles of harm and to provide strong support for those taking the courageous step of leaving a dangerous situation. #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth

So... ended up in 2nd place, which somehow feels worse than 3rd place, but *does* pay $152,000. Congrats to my opponent John Monnette, who played a great heads-up match and really earned the bracelet.

When I was young I wanted to have things, as I get older I want other people to have things.
@danilalamasmd - His family got to say goodbye. Your honesty with the dying patient gave them a gift. To say goodbye is important. You’re a human being, after all. You’re entitled to be angry at preventable death.

This came with a check for $25 and might literally be the most amazing letter to the editor I’ve ever received. It’s never too late to apologize.

What would make you feel safer: A $778 billion annual defense budget or guaranteed health care?

You might think that after announcing $100 million gift yesterday it would take an awful lot to make my day today. But today it was a student who simply stopped me as I crossed the campus, asked to shake my hand, & told me a bit about herself. Made my day. Thank you, Zoe.
