Ground has been broken!
Recently i've been using @perplexity_ai computer to design an outdoor office for our property. It's insane how good it's gotten at visualizing the space, finding furniture that fits, exploring layouts, lighting, and even framing details (double checking w contractor!). It even placed the office accurately in a generated 3d site plan from a video of me walking around the property and describing where it should go. It's not perfect (yet), but being able to get this far on your own unlocks so much creativity. Really fun!

Enormous launch today, incredibly proud of the team working on this. It's an entirely new way to use Perplexity - a single interface and system that does almost anything you can imagine. Give it a shot, and give us feedback! (max only for now)
Introducing Perplexity Computer. Computer unifies every current AI capability into one system. It can research, design, code, deploy, and manage any project end-to-end.

Today we launched @perplexity_ai Computer. It's such an incredible tool that will do almost anything you ask. It's fun to try and find the boundaries of it's capabilities. Today I one-shotted a web app that shows live satellite data around the world. It fetches Two-Line Element (TLE) orbital data for ~1,500 satellites across 10 constellation groups from CelesTrak, then uses the satellite.js library to run SGP4 propagation, converting each satellite's Keplerian orbital elements into real-time positions once per second.

Sharing a fun new macOS themed template we created called Sonoma! @tarngerine originally had this idea but didn't have the time to work on it, so we tried to do it justice. Make it your own by customizing the wallpaper, song, and artwork! Here's a little tutorial we made:

📣 New post! When animating SVGs at work, I don't typically go and hand-code the SVG myself—most of the time, the SVG's already done in a Figma file somewhere. So how do you take an SVG in Figma and later animate it in code? Read it here: courses.nan.fyi/blog/svg/ani…

HI! It’s been a minute. We’ve been busy releasing our new app, Clips: current.so/clips What is Clips? It's a new tool for instantly capturing and sharing screen recordings. Why'd we build another screen recording tool? Because we think the options out there stink. Searching for videos you watched in the past is impossible for some reason, the UI looks like each product team is building their own roadmap without talking to each other, and they’re all too expensive. What makes Clips different? Firstly, it’s cheap. Like, 40% cheaper than what’s out there today. Secondly, it's packed with useful AI features (at no extra cost) such as auto transcription, titles, summaries, tagging, and action items. This, combined with our powerful search and filtering makes it super easy to find videos in your workspace. Lastly—and this is true for all our products—it’s fast and beautifully designed, because, well we just don’t like using tools that feel bad. Try it out with your team today: current.so/clips

Now *this* is what I wished Next.js PPR had been. A static, cacheable shell, served as a normal HTML file, with fully dynamic islands streamed in from the server. The DX is so beautifully simple: just add server:defer. No magic, just HTML and fetch. Use the platform: it's faster!
Astro 4.12 is out now with experimental Server Islands, our new approach to highly cacheable pages with dynamic, personalized content in islands. It's fast. Really fast.
