We've received a few calls regarding smoke in the upper Red Oak Rd, Peirce Rd and Augusta Hwy near Meeting House Ln. Several units have searched the area and found no fires. The @ForestryCommish advises that there is a controlled burn in Dorchester County
across the Edisto River on Wire Rd near Pine Bluff Rd. @NWSCharlestonSC advises that they see a smoke plume on satellite and radar from that burn and, with the north wind, is likely covering that area.
We always say "don't focus on the cone". Hurricane Isaias will make landfall near Pensacola, Florida late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Despite being over 300 miles from the cone, Isaias will bring Colleton County some limited impacts including:
- 1.5" to 2" of rainfall Saturday into Sunday with locally higher amounts possible
- Brief, rapidly developing and fast moving tornadoes and/or waterspouts are possible.
Secure loose items in your yard, don't drive around barricades or into flood waters and have multiple ways
