No doubt there will be serving National Board members nervously looking over their shoulders, with the fear of the next knock on their door. Whilst innocent upon proven guilty, they sucked up to the former CEO and took a bite of the poisoned apple in furtherance of favours.

"The silence from Number 10 is absolutely deafening..." Aileen O'Connor, chair of Thames Valley Police Federation, reveals that the killers of PC Andrew Harper were told they weren't excluded from the early release scheme before his family was. @theJeremyVine | #JeremyVine

PC Andrew Harper was a hero. He risked his life to keep us safe. The 28-year-old lost it in the line of duty after being dragged behind a car for more than a mile. His injuries were so catastrophic a colleague at the scene couldn’t recognise him. His new bride became a widow within a month of their wedding. Now two of the men responsible for PC Harper’s death (seen here) are set to walk free at the halfway point of their sentences. Harper’s Law already exists. It was passed in Andrew’s name to ensure those who kill emergency workers face tougher sentences. But it doesn’t apply retrospectively. If the law named after Andrew Harper can’t prevent the men responsible for his death being released this early, what was it for? Read the room, prime minister.

I've just finished speaking this morning with a Met officer in a leadership role. The situation with staffing is worse than most people realise. This is not scaremongering, nor is it party politics. We've been here before (2010 - 2017/18). The PM and Home Secretary need to be very awake to this situation in case they're not hearing it from the bosses. We're in a very bad place! You cannot expect a shrinking force to effectively police growing crime demand and population. We are crippling the institution we need to keep us all safe. More officers will be added to the growing number of leavers unless something is done urgently 😧

Angela Raynor on GMB this morning insisting there is no added cost with this. I see cost clear as day right here…

Just how many times do your members have to take you to court (and win) for you to simply change your ways….?
And they vow to fight on, to waste more members’ money while stamping their feet in the corner like a petulant child. Calling judicial review proceedings ‘flawed’. We think you’ll find your own proceedings are flawed @PFEW_HQ polfed.org/news/latest-news/…

There can never be any excuse for the behaviour witnessed on Panorama this week. There can also be no excuse for those failed ex-officers seeking to make a quick payday from it.

I asked Google to translate the word ‘Palava’ today. Siri said ‘South Western Railway’. Another blinding week of service on the trains. @SW_Help

#LorneCastle. I’ve tried to maintain an open mind on his dismissal and I’m not sure if the media interviews will assist him from an appeal point of view. I am sure that the video released doesn’t present to me a reason for dismissal and simply shows no support for our own staff.

I (like other commentators on here) don’t know the full facts of the 33 hours shift. What I do know is, if it was a good job and I was that passionate about securing the result, I’d have done that too. A different viewpoint I know.
One officer from the local policing team in Hackney worked a 33-hour shift after the pair were arrested to collate the evidence and secure charges against them. news.met.police.uk/news/met-… #AboveAndBeyond #BroughtToJustice
