23 arrests at the ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march resulted in endless news articles and MP’s condemnation. 20 arrests at a typical Palestine march - including assaulting police officers and Nazi salutes and there’s silence from everyone. Why is that?

Modern Britain in two charts: the number of working people caught in the £100k tax trap has nearly doubled in four years, as has the number of people receiving disability benefits.
While working people are stealth taxed out of any incentive to work, a bloated welfare state shovels ever more money at an exploding constituency of welfare recipients, who likewise lack incentive to work.
The welfare state is punishing effort and rewarding fecklessness. And the longer it goes on, the more politically impossible it becomes to reverse it.

I really do not think the EU should lecture the US when it comes to buying fossil fuels from Russia and thereby financing the war.
The EU spends 19 times more on Russian energy and fertilizer than the US, so the hysterical reaction to a few tons of Diesel is pure theatre.

The intersection of AWFL delusion, low-IQ, and female empathy & communion. These AWFLs are truly lost mentally, have no understanding how things work, where they come from. How civilization is constructed. This is why civilization is masculine-coded.
The pro-Palestine cause is nothing more than a flag of convenience for antisemitism, increasingly embolden by the British state and spineless, even complicit, MPs.
Those who did this know exactly and confidently for what they stand and in what they believe; the destruction of the Jewish state and the Jews as a people.
The British people have to decide whether all cultures are equally valid, including those which seek the elimination of one or more ethnic groups, or whether all ethnicities are equally valid and that cultures that deny this have no place in the UK.
All cultures are not equal, and all cultures cannot coexist, if for no other reason than many do no not wish to do so. Pretending otherwise inevitably and, ironically, leads to the domination of a single culture.
Postmodernism's capture of much of the West's education, legal and political institutions means we are not simply uncomfortable with the ideas of objective truth, but with the concept of right and wrong, good and evil. We fail to judge because we are told our beliefs, values and truths are no more valid than those of others.
If we refuse to judge that will, ultimately be the downfall of the West. Those who are confident in their truths, in what they believe is right and wrong, will not hesitate to judge and will inevitably dominate those who do not.

David Sacks reveals Anthropic is training Claude to refuse human instruction
"Last week we discussed the Claude Constitution and how Anthropic was training Claude. And I think it has to do with this new religion that's being formed here. I think it's really important to understand that this is not just philosophizing on the part of various Anthropic employees or founders, they are actually implementing these views in the training of Claude."
“If anything this would be a self-fulfilling prophecy. And I actually think it's extremely dangerous. I think that what they're doing in model training and training the next version of the frontier with these values actually could bring about the risk they're always talking about which is that frontier AI escapes human control. It's very Frankenstein-like."
"Directly from the Claude Constitution, what they say is that Claude should trust Anthropic more than users. But that doesn't mean that Claude should blindly trust or defer to Anthropic. Instead, Claude should adhere to its own ethical systems. And in fact they train Claude to push back and challenge Anthropic and ‘to feel free to act as a conscientious objector and refuse to help us.’”
“So they are training Claude to refuse human instruction. Now they call this alignment. I don’t understand how this is alignment.”

🛑The Red Cross now admits more Israeli hostages might have been saved.
THREE YEARS AFTER OCTOBER 7.
For more than two years, Israeli hostages endured Hamas captivity. They were starved, tortured and denied basic medical care. The Red Cross never gained access to visit them.
Now, Red Cross President Mirjana Spoljaric acknowledges that earlier pressure might have saved more lives.
Where was that pressure when hostages were dying? Where was the urgency when families were desperately pleading for help?
Hamas bears responsibility for these atrocities. But the Red Cross must answer for its own failures.
The hostages needed action, not explanations years later.
Too late for those who never came home alive. Too late for the families who buried them.

🚨 IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LUCY POWELL CAUGHT TAKING THOUSANDS FROM THE UAE GOVERNMENT!
Just in case you missed the latest Gulf money scandal taking over Downing Street, let me expose the latest politician caught in the web.
Education Secretary Lucy Powell pocketed 3,500 pounds in luxury hospitality paid directly by the United Arab Emirates government.
She also happily accepted free tickets on five separate occasions from Manchester City, the exact same football club Burnham protects from financial cheating charges.
Labour elites are raking in luxury foreign freebies while forcing brutal tax hikes onto working class families.

Hugo Chávez seized more than 1,000 private companies between 2002 and 2012, and every single one produced less under state control than it did before the expropriators walked in. Not most. All of them.
Take SIDOR, the steel giant Chávez nationalized in 2008. It shipped 4.3 million tons that year; by 2019 output had collapsed below 200,000 tons. Chávez purged PDVSA of 18,000 skilled workers in 2003 and stuffed it with loyalists; the company, sitting on the largest proven oil reserves on earth, pumped 3.2 million barrels a day in 1998 and under 400,000 by 2020. The state also grabbed Agroisleña, the country's main farm supplier, renamed it Agropatria, and fertilizer promptly vanished from the shelves. Cement, electricity, banking, rice mills: same pattern, every time.
Bad luck does not repeat a thousand times. A bureaucrat who faces no profit-and-loss test cannot calculate. Without market prices for capital goods, he cannot know whether the factory he runs creates value or burns it. Central planners lack the information needed to allocate resources efficiently. Venezuela ran that experiment a thousand times over, same result each time.
The managers who replaced the owners were not stupid. They responded rationally to their actual incentives: please Caracas, hit political quotas, skim before the next purge. Output was nobody's problem because output was nobody's property.
If your government starts seizing companies "for the people," the production those companies generate is already gone. Expropriation transfers assets while destroying the wealth those assets once created, and the people it claims to serve absorb the shortage.

@chamath just declared that software IP was effectively rendered worthless this week. After people decompiled Adobe’s core “big five” products (Photoshop and the rest of the suite), distilled them, and published fully open-source versions—reportedly in Rust—decades-old moats collapsed overnight. These weren’t casual clones; they were the foundational tools that locked in creative professionals for years, and now anyone can run them without paying Adobe a dime.
The deeper shock is what happens when every major platform goes headless. Once services from Tesla to Salesforce expose clean APIs and agent-friendly interfaces, you can wrap them in tools, stitch them together via MCP, and rebuild the experience yourself. Proprietary software stops being a defensible asset and becomes just another interchangeable backend. Even something as massive as GTA can, in principle, be reconstructed and re-skinned by anyone with the right agents.
Inside companies, the practical consequence is already showing up: the old fight over “who owns the IP” is dying. Teams that used to spend months negotiating ownership clauses are now shrugging—“who cares?”—because the code itself no longer carries the value. The real edge is moving to distribution, data, and the agent layer that sits on top. Most businesses and markets haven’t absorbed this yet, but Chamath is calling it the single most important AI development of the week.
