Many years ago, Wendy and I met Esther Rantzen and I must say she was the most friendly and good natured person we ever met. She was a radiant joy and so kind. God bless the great things she did for so many others. RIP XX
The years roll by as we grow older, but those we lost are frozen in time. Tim is forever 12, with 34 years of life taken from him. What he would have achieved, we dont know, but his legacy charity survives him and supports others. Tim would not ask for more
Today is the 33rd anniversary of the day the IRA bombed Warrington town centre and killed my son Tim and 3 yr old Johnathan Ball. Words can never describe how losing a child leaves a huge hole in your heart and your family. Eternal love Tim ❤️❤️
3 years ago I beat Bowel cancer and now the big C has returned but this time it is in my liver and lungs. So I have another even bigger battle on my hands but I’m determined to win again. Only time will tell. Fingers crossed 💙
Wendy and I were joined by friends and VIP’s alike when we opened the Peace Centre on the 7th anniversary of the IRA bombing. The guest of honour was HRH The Duchess of Kent who died today aged 92. She supported us over the 25 years since that special day
It is my son’s 45th birthday today. Another birthday he has not enjoyed with his family because of an indiscriminate IRA bomb. Tim has lived on through the charity and it’s peace building work and so his life has served 000’s of others. God bless you my son
Our Foundation is now inviting applications for funding from charities and non profit organisations working to prevent violence against young people, women and girls and victims of violent crime
Today we have completed the sale of our iconic Peace Centre to Warrington Council. It is the end of a journey started on the 7th anniversary of the bombing which took Tim’s life. The charity lives on to help other charities with the proceeds of the sale
Having not tweeted for a while, I am compelled to make the case that evil violent acts even without a politcal cause are still actsof terror and thereby subject to the same penalties as outlawed political groups. The Southport victims lives must bring change

Bruce Springsteen formally endorses Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in a new video where he calls Donald Trump “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.”
“Hi, I'm Bruce Springsteen. Friends, fans, and the press have asked me who I'm supporting in this most important of elections.
And with full knowledge that my opinions are no more or less important than those of any of my fellow citizens, here's my answer: I'm supporting Kamala Harris for President and Tim Waltz for Vice President and opposing Donald Trump and JD Vance.
Here's why.
We are shortly coming upon one of the most consequential elections in our nation's history. Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally divided as it does then at this moment.
It doesn't have to be this way.
The common values, the shared stories that make us a great and united nation are waiting to be rediscovered and retold once again.
Now that will take time, hard work, intelligence, faith and women and men with the national good, guiding their hearts.
America's the most powerful nation on earth. Not just because of her overwhelming military strength or economic power, but because of what she stands for, what she means, what she believes in: freedom, social justice, equal opportunity, the right to be and love who you want.
These are the things that make America great.
Donald Trump is the most dangerous candidate for President in my lifetime. His disdain for the sanctity of our constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law, and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of President ever again.
He doesn't understand the meaning of this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American.
On the other hand, Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity, and they want to grow our economy in a way that benefits all, not just the few like me on top. That's the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years now.
Everybody sees things different, and I respect your choice as a fellow citizen, but like you, I've only got one vote, and it's one of the most precious possessions that I have.
That's why come November 5th, I'll be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
My heart goes out to the parents of the children attacked in Southport and particularly the bereaved parents. Whilst their pain will lessen over time, their loss is for ever, tho their family support will pull them through. We send them our love

A day of remembering and honouring Tim 31 years after he was fatally injured by an IRA bomb. We get great comfort knowing so many people who never knew him, remember him like they knew him. Thank you. It brings great comfort 💙
What touches me most deeply on this day is the quiet dignity of all the veterans and the nation as we mark Remembrance Day and our forefathers who gave their lives for this great country.

If you have been affected by terrorism and recent incidents have re-triggered difficult feelings, we are here to support you [email protected]
It makes me weep that something so beautiful and so harmless should be cut down by a disaffected young man. Has he no heart or soul? I do wonder
