The new and improved manuscript! (aka, peer reviewed, revised, and published). The zebrafish hypochord contributes to Tagln+ cells on the aorta, and early ISV perivascular cells express Tagln... before Pdgfrb. Now with movies! πŸ“½οΈπŸ¦“πŸŸ @StratmanLab doi.org/10.1002/dvdy.681

When you naively do a little experiment that turns into a BIG one-> I just wanted to look at Tagln and Pdgfrb expression in mural cells of developing πŸ¦“πŸŸ. We found new MC progenitor cells AND see hypochord cells persist past 2 dpf 😱 @StratmanLab Preprint:biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Celebrating Rod's retirement! Rod is a role model for many of us and has done what most scientists wish to accomplish in his over 40 year scientific career: discovered a gene, discovered the protein, named the protein, understood the protein, developed a drug based on the protein
This week, Dr. Rod McEver marks a pair of major milestones: Today, he’s celebrating his 75th birthday. And tomorrow, after 35 years as a scientist, program chair, and vice president of research at OMRF, will be his first day of retirement! πŸ₯³omrf.org/2023/03/05/a-retire…

My 5 yo had her first intruder drill at school today. She processes things by drawing them so she made this book and read it to me when I got home. Here's the book and how she read it to me. I have so many feelings. Her: It says "Be Quiet" ... and that's me!

Me: What's happening on this page? Her: That's the end. There's black there and a clock. Me: *this feels very ominous"

So that's the story. She seems to be handling it all well, and not particularly upset. I mean, she's 5. She doesn't know what's supposed to be normal. I'm the one who's upset and conflicted and relieved... I don't even know what to feel.
