A farmer, tired of rats destroying his crops and stealing his grain, came up with a clever but cruel plan. He threw a dead pig into a deep, abandoned well. Attracted by the smell, nearly 80 rats rushed into the well to feast on the carcass. At first, everything seemed wonderful. There was more than enough food for everyone, and the rats ate until they were satisfied. But when the food was gone, they discovered something terrifying. The walls of the well were too steep to climb. They were trapped. Days passed, and hunger turned into desperation. Desperation turned into aggression. The rats that had once eaten peacefully beside one another began fighting for survival. Eventually, they began killing and eating each other. One by one, their numbers dwindled until only a single rat remained. Its eyes were bloodshot, and it had survived by consuming its own kind. Then the farmer returned, lowered a rope into the well, and rescued the last surviving rat. But he didn't save it out of kindness or compassion. The farmer knew the rat had learned to survive by hunting other rats. When he released it into his fields, it would continue killing its own kind instead of eating his grain. The farmer had turned his enemy into his greatest weapon. And that is the lesson of divide and conquer. Those who control the trap don't need to fight the battles themselves. They simply create the conditions in which others turn against one another. The rats believed their enemies were the other rats. They never realized that the true enemy was the farmer who had put them there. The greatest danger isn't always the enemy standing in front of you. Sometimes it's the one who created the conflict and stands quietly watching you destroy each other. Before you turn against your neighbor because of their political beliefs, ask yourself who benefits from keeping Americans divided. While we fight each other over Republican and Democrat, we may be overlooking those who profit from the conflict. Perhaps the real question isn't which side you're on, but who built the well—and why they want us fighting at the bottom of it.

Fourth-and-1 at midfield today. Fourth-and-2 in the fourth quarter. We got stopped both times, and Florida scored a touchdown after each one. Coach Sark, I played for Texas. I was a team captain and an All-American on the Forty Acres. I love this program, so writing this hurts. I'm only doing it because I think one thing is holding us back, and I'd rather say it to you straight than keep yelling at my TV. Please hand the play sheet to someone else. You've done a lot for this place. Two straight playoff semifinals and an SEC title game in our first year. Texas matters again because of you, and I'm grateful. I'm not calling for your job. Not even close. But look at the big moments. Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl, first-and-goal at the 1, and we walked away with nothing. Ohio State again last year, fourth-and-goal from inches, we stayed in a speed package and got stuffed. You said yourself you'd probably sub if you could do it over. Last week against OU it was third-and-1 at our own 45 and we threw a little pass to the back that lost 2. Tied 24-24, two minutes left, fourth-and-2 at their 35, we sent out the kicker for a 53-yarder. Today you called the fourth-down run "not very good design." I went back through the official play-by-play. In our two losses this year we converted 4 of 11 third and fourth downs with two yards or less to go. That's not all on the line or the backs. Nobody is getting push right now. We're running for about 3.6 a carry. That's exactly why this offense needs a coach whose whole week is the offense. Your job never stops. Recruiting, the portal, NIL, a 100-plus man roster. That's a full-time job by itself. History backs this up. The last head coach to win a national title calling his own offensive plays was Jimbo Fisher, in the 2013 season. No champion in the playoff era has done it. Ryan Day gave the calls to Chip Kelly in 2024 and won it all. You won a ring at Alabama calling plays for Coach Saban. You already have Kyle Flood with the coordinator title. Let him call it, or bring in someone you trust. Then you get to be the head coach on fourth-and-1, seeing the whole field. This is the school that ran the wishbone to titles in '69 and '70. Earl Campbell ran for 1,744 yards in '77. Ricky Williams left with 6,279. We know who we're supposed to be. And our defense is holding teams under 3 yards a carry. We can win with that. After OU you said "not a chance" about giving up the calls. I'm asking you to think about it one more time. For the players. Hook 'em. Texas fans, if you agree, please repost and tag @CoachSark. #HookEm

Gina Hinojosa wants to be governor, and she’s running on her record in education. So let’s look at it. In 2023 she filed the “Fully Fund Our Future Act,” a $40 billion school spending plan. The headline was a “$15,000 raise” for teachers. Read the bill and that raise turns out to be a one-time bonus, paid once at the end of a single school year. It didn’t touch base salaries, so teachers would have been back where they started the next year. The rest of the $40 billion would have gone where new school money always goes: more administration and more vendors, not teachers, schools, and students. Anyone who has spent time in Texas schools knows how this works. That’s the Hinojosa approach to education. Bigger budgets for bureaucracies, fewer choices for families. When parents ask to take their child’s funding somewhere that works better for their kid, she calls it a threat. Texas families deserve better than one-time bonuses and blank checks. Fund students, not systems. Let the money follow the child.

I hate to say it, but I’m really starting to think Arch Manning is the second coming of Chris Simms. But no Major on the bench to bail us out today. #hookem

Terrible coaching.
Arch Manning has thrown it 14 times. Horns have run in 23 times. Florida is the worst pass defense in the SEC.

Gina Hinojosa spent months calling Greg Abbott a coward for refusing to debate her. Yesterday morning she set up two podiums outside the Governor’s Mansion and left one empty for him. He didn’t show. Jenn Mack, a write-in candidate for governor, did. Mack stepped up to the empty podium and told Hinojosa she came to debate both of them on their records. Hinojosa told her the stage was reserved for Abbott, then had her removed. Mack was walked off the stage by an officer. So the candidate who says refusing to debate is disqualifying refused to debate the one challenger who actually showed up. Abbott ducks Hinojosa. Hinojosa ducks anyone who isn’t Abbott. Both of them want a two-person race because a real debate is a risk to both of them. Texans have more than two choices for governor. Pat Dixon, the Libertarian nominee, is on your ballot and ready to debate. Governor Abbott, Representative Hinojosa: the challenge is open. Pat will bring his own podium.
