to Kasia who you walked past in a hurry outside the House of Commons Committee Room so you could ensure the Bus Services Bill 2025 got through the Parliamentary process. @andyburnham @stephenctimms @Heidi_Labour @LordBlunkett
.@andyburnham pls act on Kasia’s message @10DowningStreet ‘You cannot make floating bus stops accessible because they are inherently wrong. There is nothing that can be done & the only way to make bus stops accessible & buses accessible is placing bus stops back on the pavement’

It may be that the clocks go back tonight and that the wind’s howling and the rain’s horizontal but at least the last of the summer roses are GLORIOUS.

🇮🇪 “Not everyone wants a hug. Even from the people who love them”
Ireland launched a social ad urging grandparents to ask grandchildren for permission before hugging.
The 25-second clip showed one child happily embracing their grandparents and another looking uncomfortable as the grandparents leaned in.
It was produced by We-Consent, a project of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre supported by Ireland’s Ministry of Justice and Ministry for Children, Disability and Equality.
The ad triggered strong public backlash. Critics called for common sense and said it distorted family values with left-wing ideology.
After the wave of criticism, the video was pulled from the air.
“It was both inappropriate and demeaning to grandparents and has been removed by DRCC following my officials’ engagement with them. It goes without saying that having loving grandparents in a child’s life is an incredibly positive thing to be cherished and not something to be campaigned against,” Jim O’Callaghan, Minister for Justice of Ireland said.

Today, @LordWeirDUP’s British Sovereignty Protection (Chagos Islands) Bill is being debated.
The Lords has played a vital role in stopping the Chagos surrender, and now they lead the charge to pass legislation that will give the Chagossians their right to self-determination.

Britain’s gold-plated public sector pensions bill is on course to hit a record £60bn next year, yet is almost entirely ignored in favour of calls to cut the state pension on which many low income retired people depend. dailysceptic.org/2026/10/22/…

Ofgem has issued an unprecedented warning that it cannot guarantee Britain’s energy demand will be met during peak winter conditions.
Heat, power, & light: all at risk due to potential gas shortages in a country blessed with deep gas reserves - untapped & left dormant due to political choice.
British consumers & businesses will now pay an even higher price for increased dependence on foreign supply. This is an unacceptable failure of energy policy & national energy security.
