Deleting Twitter come find me on Threads for now… will leave profile for a little while longer before I delete my account.

How are things holding up here on Shitter?
Threads is still missing major features like search and a follower timeline. 🤷♂️
What I really want is a curated news feed.
Rumor is Twitter API squelched due to Threads pulling over user data. Hilarious if true.
I'm downloading my Twitter archive... recommend you download yours before it's too late (even if you are staying around). Hope you will ping me on Mastodon/SirDarkStar or Tribel/darkstar_ for now.

My favourite fact about the BIG gravitational wave news, is that it was only made possible because we finally know the precise position of Jupiter! 🤯
Thanks to @chrislintott for flagging this cool fact

Sean Spaulding was also among the angry white men the night before the rally who carried tiki torches and chanted “Jews will not replace us!” before the group viciously attacked a small, unarmed group of counter protesters.

Welcome to the sunlight Sean Clayton Spaulding (33) of Carlsbad, CA.
Sean is a biotechnologist-turned-wannabe holistic health practitioner and a long-time racist activist.
He's also Unite the Right attendee #BlackBristlesUTR.

RFK Jr.'s candidacy is the manifestation of the Wellness to Qanon pipeline.
No matter the outcome of the election, his campaign & the media coverage will bring #misinformation #disinformation #mistrust to new levels.

I had an idea a while ago about how to improve large-scale social media, but it wasn’t feasible, now it might be. Idea is to compare posts/relies using a ML model (using embeddings) and duplicates strongly discouraged* — suggesting votes on existing posts, etc.
The idea is to greatly reduce duplication of posts and elevate newer thoughts in a forum.
Otherwise how could we possibly sort through 5000 posts in reply to some topic and find those you agree with? And how to manage that scale. I don’t think you really can.

I did a reverse image search. It seems this photo is from a tech review of a thermal imaging camera named the FLIR E6 (sold by places like Amazon). This photo was “repurposed” for an incredibly scammy site named Thermozone which basically made it all up.

Those links are cancer. If you do a Tineye lookup or are tempted to enter one of the urls in your browser, don’t. I’m supplying this screenshot for corroborating dates only.
This Thermozone place has had their Weebly website offline since November but continues to post on FB.
A tiny bit disappointed in the NanoGrav news today... was hoping some hint at new physics but just that a-hole Einstein being confirmed again.

Telegraph staff react to their new logo:
ALT Telegraph logo which is a white diamond surrounded by red with a gothic T in the middle. Frankly it looks pretty Nazi…
just another reason to #BlockTheBlue
