I remember arguments with dev friends over this. They all hated Musk and predicted Twitter would fail. Every move was Armageddon and bad. Mass firings. Satan. I'm like "guys, you're devs. tell me why Twitter needs 7500 employees? what are they doing?". Turns out, not a lot.
Other than a few bumps X has been fine and has had more feature updates and changes in a couple years than in many years before. The hall monitoring and cancellation has gone away. The loudest detractors have left to smaller echo chambers. X continues to be strong and a legitimate source of news and a wide variety of opinions. You can agree or disagree but it's a fairly open marketplace of ideas and seems to be getting stronger over time.
So yeah, about that doom and gloom? We'll mark that one in the loss column.

So you're telling me the reason your game sucks, holds my hand from minute one and doesn't let go until the credits, has characters explaining every fucking thing to me like I'm legally blind, and basically plays itself is because you made it for John, 47, mechanic, who plays games exclusively on weekends, and if he has to choose between your new shiny game and Madden, he's picking Madden every fucking time.
Maybe if you made games for people who actually play games, we wouldn't be sitting here wondering what the fuck is even going to compete for Game of the Year most years.
Because when an entire year produces maybe two or three games actually worthy of the title, perhaps the problem isn't that gamers are too demanding.
Maybe you're just making games for the wrong audience.

As confirmed earlier through our official channels, in mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the PHYSINT project. PHYSINT is an important project both to me personally and to KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. Determined to keep the project alive, we have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner. In the course of seeking advice and pursuing negotiations with people across many fields, we found in XBOX a partner with whom we share a common vision for the future, and we have decided to team up with them once again. Please rest assured that development of PHYSINT, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward.
