We all graduated this year.
Life outside school has always turned its light on us, while we were still waiting for the real experience.
I can tell you for a fact that I’ve been building myself for a whole lot, trying to prepare for the stage of being a graduate. But it’s never enough. Honestly, it’s not.
I don’t know if I’m sad, pained, or just trying to figure out what exactly I’m feeling right now. I honestly don’t know.
I had seen this post on WhatsApp statuses about the demise of this young guy. Even saw that he was an instrumentalist (guitarist, precisely) at RCF, Funaab which isn’t far from my place, and the fact that I am also connected to them in a way. Though, I don’t know him personally, but his face seemed very familiar.
He only thought of giving himself a life after school by becoming a dispatch rider. Not that he studied that in school.
And honestly, I’ve had different thoughts too. Trying this, doing that, considering a number of things, just to build the life I’ve always wanted.
We all graduated this year, with hopes, plans, dreams, and different ideas of what life after school would look like.
And now, for him, it ends...
Rest on, brother. 😔
Honour till the end of no end. 💙✊️

Dear Mr President, @officialABAT, we call on you to take the necessary action. This lady and some of her colleagues are being held captive by kidnappers. ₦20 million as ransom is unconscionable.

KOGI NYSC ABDUCTION: WE NEED CLARITY
The Students' Union Government, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has taken note of the reports circulating across several major news platforms concerning the alleged rescue of the abducted NYSC members in Kogi State.
While we welcome every genuine effort towards the safe rescue of the affected corps members, we cannot ignore the serious questions surrounding the information currently being circulated.
Reports from the Kogi State Police Command stated that 11 victims were rescued, while efforts were still ongoing to locate those who remained in captivity.
However, families of some of the victims continue to raise concerns over the status of their loved ones. Reports published on Sunday, 30th August, also indicate that kidnappers have demanded ₦20 million for each victim reportedly still in captivity, according to relatives.
One of the affected corps members is Adedolapo, a FUNAAB graduate from COLAMRUD.
If the 11 victims reported as rescued have indeed been safely released, we need clear confirmation. We need to see them. We need to know their names, their actual number, and receive verifiable evidence of their safe return.
Families are still seeking answers. Victims are still being accounted for. Yet reports suggesting that everyone has been released continue to circulate without resolving these questions.
We therefore call on the relevant authorities and media organisations that have published these reports to do the needful, verify the situation properly and give Nigerians the accurate status of every victim.
We will not stop asking questions. We will not stop amplifying the voices of the affected families. And we will not allow conflicting information to make the situation disappear.
We need clarity. We need answers. We need our people safely back home.

KOGI POLICE COMMAND RESCUES 11 ABDUCTED VICTIMS ALONG ALOMA–EGANE ROAD IN KOGI STATE
The Kogi State Police Command has rescued eleven persons kidnapped along the Aloma–Egane road in Ofu Local Government Area on the 26 of August.
A statement by the Command's Public Relation Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat says, the incident occurred at about 4.40pm, when armed men from the bush around Ogene Zaria, near the Ogene Zaria/Onicha-Igo Junction, blocked two buses travelling in opposite directions and abducted some passengers, while others escaped into the surrounding bush.
On receipt of a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Ofu, led a joint security team to the scene, where two abandoned vehicles were recovered.
A coordinated bush-combing and rescue operation was immediately launched, resulting in the successful rescue of 11 abducted victims, including the drivers of the two buses.
Preliminary debriefing indicates that most of the rescued victims are NYSC members travelling from Bayelsa State to Abuja.
The statement notes that the rescued victims have been debriefed after necessary procedures and allowed to continue their journey.
Similarly, the Command has also received a report of armed attack along the Itobe–Ochadamu Expressway, particularly around Ojuwo Olijo in Ofu Local Government Area, on Thursday, 27 August 2026.
The Command's Public Relation Officer ASP Salihu Oyiza says the incident occurred at about 5.00pm when armed assailants emerged from the surrounding bush and opened fire at motorists. A blue Toyota Corolla, registration number GWA 636 CH, was subsequently found abandoned along the highway with the driver found dead in the vehicle, while another occupant was taken by the assailants.
The Command says, it is working with other security agencies, with personnel currently combing the surrounding forest in a determined effort to locate and rescue the abducted victim and track down those responsible.
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has directed sustained operational efforts towards securing the affected corridor and ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The statement further urges motorists and residents along the route to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to the Police or other security agencies.

Funaabites, it is time to help our own.
Many media outlets are posting wrong information about the abducted corp members in bayelsa.
We will be ensuring they bring down those tweets.
None of the victims have been rescued yet.
They would not be used to score political points

PRESS STATEMENT
NANS LAUNCHES ITF SIWES PAYMENT COMPILATION PORTAL
Following the inauguration of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) SIWES and Intervention Projects Assessment, Verification and Monitoring Committee, I am pleased to announce the launch of the NANS ITF SIWES Payment compilation Portal for students who have completed their Industrial Training Scheme but are yet to receive their SIWES allowance.
This initiative follows conflicting reports regarding the payment of eligible students. While there are claims that beneficiaries have been paid, many students maintain otherwise. The verification portal has therefore been established to ascertain the true position of affairs and ensure that affected students receive the payments due to them.
Therefore, students who have completed their Industrial Training Scheme and are yet to receive their SIWES allowance are hereby advised to visit the portal and submit the required information. itf.nanshq.org
As your President, I remain committed to speaking for you, representing your interests, and relentlessly advocating for your welfare.
