This is an SFBay example of idiotic progressive urban planning that puts in dead median strips, dedicates 50% of the street lanes for buses only, where a bus only goes by once every 20 minutes, which means less than 1% utilization of the street area for passengers So stupid

Space filling aether theory is making a comeback Myself, i always liked the aether theory, and my father's 1931 Markus, "Elements of Radio" explained radio more clearly using the aether theory Hossenfelder on aether's resurgence: youtube.com/watch?v=Zf7H7P8Q…

this is what the California governor ballot is for the primary, pretty wild, even if you know who you want to vote for it takes a few minutes to find them because they put them in random order Quite a contest

California is run by idiots They forced the largest Japanese car importers to build alternative fuel cars; which cost billions in R&D to make The result is cars nobody wants Example, the Toyota Mirai hydrogen car which was 50k new, now selling for $3k because over $250 to fill

the A10 was originally designed by the genius Alexander Kartveli, who was born in 1896, and cranked out practical designs, and later came up with experimental aircraft that were way ahead of their time like the XF-103 which was awesome Boom Aerospace must have seen it

Anthropic has an valuation of approx 800 billion So-called geniuses can't even make a legible "create account" screen. Once you enter your email, you must accept their terms The checkbox is in such a low contrast color a good % of humans cannot easily see it as a control

this is an example of the kind of user interface I like to build. The buttons are so gigantic that you can be blind, super uncoordinated and still press it. I hate the user interfaces that are being made in Software today which have teensy pale icons that are hard to distinguish

Modern software UI designers have no taste They use anemic toolbar icons, where they pretend the icon was drawn by a fixed width pen of a single color Compare Figma's toolbar with my toolbar from 20 years ago from Discus labeler My icons are far more distinct, more accessible

This very pure and simple song sung by Whitney Houston is among her very best performances of her too short life The control with flashes of her belting power is truly awesome. youtube.com/watch?v=dIK22ofg…

If you are looking for pop, this is probably the greatest performance of Whitney Houston's career. Simple, but shows the awesome transition between chest and head voice that was so unique to her. youtube.com/watch?v=dIK22ofg…
