Can we just NOT with the Ash Wednesday criticisms?
If your church does it, great. It’s a tradition that reminds us we are dust and shall return to it.
If your church doesn’t do it, great. You can remember this concept in another way.
All churches have some level of tradition. Ever get a palm on Palm Sunday? Ever attend a church where you bring your own Bible? Ever see a baby in white get baptized or dedicated?
It’s all tradition. And none of it is taking away from Jesus or violating scripture.
Keep your powder dry for good reasons to disagree. This one isn’t it.
