🚀 Introducing Whisper.php: Local Speech-to-Text in PHP.
It brings the power of OpenAI's Whisper through whisper.cpp to PHP, enabling fully local and API-free transcription directly in your projects, with models starting at 32MB!🤩
🧵 Let’s see what makes it awesome:
"The fact that a person who received favor from God through you did not show his/her gratitude by material gifts to you, does not mean the person is not grateful to God.
You're not the person that did the favor, you mustn't be the person to receive gifts for it. The person can decide, like Zacheaus to give to the poor. The gift was not from you, the gratitude isn't to you but to God"
Bishop Godfrey I. Onah, in a reflection on Naaman's healing and how Elisha handled the Thanksgiving afterwards. Insightful ❤️
Thank you @ElizabethN !!
First, from the PHPTalks community, we were pleased to have this opportunity to understand PHP Foundation.
We specially thank you Elizabeth for joining us at PHPConnect’26 and, more importantly, showing us that contributing to PHP is something we can all be part of. We’re grateful for the time you took to make that opportunity feel real and accessible.
We hope to see our community become a core part of the amazing work in PHPFoundation
You are amazing
I'm scared to use my codex banked reset because another global reset might just land tomorrow or next 🤧🤧🤧
Excerpt from @AnthropicAI's latest article on redesigning source control - Scion and Antique. Designing a git replacement for their workflow took a team of 7 engineers and 5 months, with Mythos.
Work is changing indeed!
And this analysis wasn't done before the project was approved and greenlit huh??? Get tf out
As a civil engineer, I find it surprising that people who have no engineering training will boldly fault engineering design decisions without understanding the background reason.
The real question any critic should ask is: are the reasons behind this design change genuine?
You are laughing with emojis because you are looking at a mega-infrastructure project through the lens of a tailor.
A road route is not drawn in permanent ink. The diversion of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway from the immediate shoreline is not a mistake; it is a calculated decision based on very practical realities.
First, the original route directly clashed with the landing stations of Nigeria's international submarine cables. Building over them would mean risking a massive internet and telecommunications blackout for the entire country.
Second, sticking strictly to the old coastal line meant the government would have to destroy multi-billion Naira investments, established resorts, and ancestral communities. One of them is Okun-Ajah.
Therefore, diverting the road slightly inland saves the government billions in compensation and protects people's homes and livelihoods.
Again, one thing we must not forget is that the Atlantic Ocean is aggressive. Because of severe coastal erosion, building a permanent highway right on the water's edge is dangerous.
As such, moving the road inward creates a safe buffer against ocean surges so the highway does not wash away in a few years.
Anything outside of this is a political talk. And I am not interested in that.
Engineering is about solving real-world problems. So next time, before you laugh at a structural diversion, understand the facts driving it.

Dear Nigerians. Pls Read Very Carefully.
A Total of 9 Toll gates were agreed upon for the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway. Each Toll Unit will charge N3,000 for cars and N5k for Trucks. Nigerians are expected to Pay this Tolls on that Road OVER A 15 year TOLLING PERIOD.
A $1.87 billion loan was borrowed by the Tinubu administration from Deutche Bank, Afrexim Bank and First Abu Dhabi group for that Highway. Every Investor in that Room knew that A whole new Lagos to Calabar route CAN NEVER BE AS LUCRATIVE as the current East West Legacy Corridor filled with Travelers, Transporters, Goods & Traders plus a huge December travel Upsurge season.
The Devil works Hard but APC works harder. Umahi knew what he was doing from Day 1. THEY WERE NEVER BUILDING ANY ROAD TO CALABAR. Thats why the EIA never Fucking mattered to start with. Intelligent Nigerians were doing Geography and Topography maths for our Govt. Explaining to them that the Highway will need over 70 bridges to navigate the swamps of the Naija Delta alone etc. It didn’t matter. The Road was Never going to go tru the original Map Umahi posted publicly. 🤣 The Lagos end is completed and has boosted their Eko Atlantic phase 2 project. Zero Toll Gates were erected.
This people actually planned to put the 9 toll Gates along the East West Corridor.
The EAST will be the ones made to Pay for that 15 year Loan eventually. The Lagos end is clearly Untolled. Any investor looking to recoup an almost $2 billion Loan is not waiting for Umahi’s ridiculous 8 Yr Construction Timeline to build that new Road when a profitable route already exists. They sold Nigerians a smoke screen from Day 1. A very Unfair and diabolical plan if you ask me.
Just to Prove my Conspiracy theory right. Any Journalist that gets to Interview Minister Dave Umahi moving forward Pls ask him a simple question. Where does he Exactly plan to place the 15 year loaned 9 TOLL GATES along that Route? and I will be proven Right. I bet you he will answer Benin Bypass, Agbor, Asaba, Onitsha, Oba/Nnewi junction and 9th mile. If he even answers you at all. 😎
I know this party like the back of my Hand. APC has taught me to Ignore what they are Saying Publicly and Look for the actual Scam that they are Running underneath. They can’t help themselves.
#GoAndVerify 🧐🤬🇳🇬

What if PHP didn't need an interpreter to run?
No PHP installation.
No external runtime dependencies.
Just a native executable.

Thinking about it. It'll be so nice if Opay does something like Spotify wrapped at the end of the year 🤔 🤔
Opay has this new feature of using your location and past activities on the app to suggest the account to transfer to.
Experienced it yesterday and it was just so surreal. Bought something nd once I opened my Opay to transfer, they just knew I was at the woman's shop and brought up the account.
Little things like this 🤌🏽😭
I’ve always thought human immortality was impractical, even in theory.
I mean, imagine a world where people keep being born but nobody ever dies. How exactly would that work? At some point, the population becomes unsustainable.
Everything around us goes through some cycle of deterioration, replacement or renewal. Death, in a way, is part of that cycle too.
I just find it difficult to imagine a world where life keeps coming into existence but nothing ever leaves.

They're two different life pathways and that's okay. And besides the Lagoslife scenario is an outlier
Building a game like LagosLife
Is better than going to BBNaija house now.
$500k in 9 days versus whatever they are paying you in 3 months for disgracing your generation.
